GREENE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING

MARCH 2011

MARCH 8, 2011 WORK SESSION:

Chairman Channell led the Pledge of Allegiance and observed a moment of silence.

Call to Order: Chairman Channell called the Work Session to order at 6:00 p.m.

Roll Call: Commissioners Torbert, Andrews, Rhodes, Sanders, and Chairman Channell were present.

Minutes: The Minutes from the February 2011 Regular Monthly Meeting, February 24, 2011 Called Meeting, and the March 1, 2011 Called Meeting were discussed. The Chairman inquired with the Commissioners to determine if any corrections were necessary. No corrections were noted. No official action was taken.

Business Items:

Planning & Zoning Board Appointment: The Commissioners received information that the term of Bob Lofgren on the Planning & Zoning Board will expire on April 22, 2011. Mr. Lofgren serves as the representative from district four. No official action was taken.

Resolution for Senate Bill 346 – Board of Assessors’ Authorization: The Commissioners received information about Senate Bill 346 that was signed into Law last year. The new Law requires taxing authorities to provide refunds when assessments were in error, but the Law does allow for the responsibility to be delegated by adoption of a Resolution. The Commissioners discussed the benefit of authorizing the Board of Assessors to manage this process. No official action was taken.

Adjournment: Chairman Channell adjourned the meeting at 6:05 p.m.

MARCH 8, 2011 VOTING SESSION:

Call to Order: Chairman Channell called the Voting Session to order at 6:06 p.m.

Roll Call: Commissioners Andrews, Rhodes, Torbert, Sanders and Chairman Channell were present.

Minutes: Commissioner Andrews motioned to approve the minutes from the February 2011 Regular Monthly Meeting. Commissioner Sanders seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Torbert motioned to approve the minutes from the February 24, 2011 Called Meeting. Commissioner Rhodes seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Rhodes motioned to approve the minutes from the March 1, 2011 Called Meeting. Commissioner Sanders seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

Business Items:

Planning & Zoning Board Appointment: Commissioner Sanders motioned to appoint Bob Lofgren to the Greene County Planning & Zoning Board as the District Four appointment for a term beginning 4/23/2011 and ending 4/22/2014. Commissioner Rhodes seconded. Motioned carried unanimously.

Resolution for Senate Bill 346 – Board of Assessors’ Authorization: Commissioner Torbert motioned to adopt Resolution Number 2011.3.15 authorizing the Board of Assessors to process refunds in accordance with Senate Bill 346, and to waive the reading of the Resolution. Commissioner Andrews seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

Commissioner’s Report:

District One Commissioner had no report.

District Two Commissioner had no report.

District Three Commissioner had no report.

District Four Commissioner had no report.

Chairman Channell reported that everything was going well.

Adjournment: Chairman Channell adjourned the meeting at 6:09 p.m.
