Forming Task Forces:

Last month the team decided to form the initial taskforce(s) in the Bacon Creek Watershed, Hart County, and use that experience to establish future taskforces in other parts of Hart County first and then throughout the G/T watershed. Due to the limited attendance last month and at this meeting, this plan is subject to change as more team members weigh-in on the subject.

Robin stated that she would publish announcements of Watershed Watch meetings in the BRDHD publication (KAFES) as a means of accessing more volunteers.

Robin reported that Metcalfe County with widespread septic problems. She suggested that we contact PRIDE to see if we could assist with citizen education and compliance.

Chip provided the team with GIS mapping that locates Class V (septic) injection wells in Hart county.

Discussion about obtaining grassroots support suggested that Dr. Terry Wilson (WKU) be contacted for possible access to a list of teachers who have participated in his training sessions. Via a contact provided by Pat Neichter, Dale reported, he had obtained the name and number of a potential Taskforce organizer (Steve Kistler at the Hart Co. H.S.). Elaine Digges had also provided Dale with a teacher to contact (Linda Gosser).
