Green Acres Country Club

Green Acres Country Club in Northbrook, IL is seeking an experiencedComptroller with 5 to 7 years experience in accounting management of a private club (CPA & Northstar experience preferred).

Job Summary:

Develops policies to control and coordinate accounting, budgets, taxes and related activities and records. Develops, establishes and administers procedures and systems pertaining to financial matters: financial statements, forecasts and analysis for all administrative and managerial functions.

Maintains all accounting records and is responsible for development, analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information. Supervises the staffing, scheduling, training and professional development of departmental staff. Position answers directly to the General Manager.

Job Tasks:

  • Directthe financial operations of the Club.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for the club along with required supporting schedules and other data necessary for financial reports and records.
  • Prepare budgets and financial forecasts in coordination with departments and General Manager; analyzes financial information for operations and Capital Expenditures.
  • Direct, develop, and train departmental staff.
  • Overseethe daily operation of membership, accounts receivable, accounts payable, human resources, and payroll.
  • Act as the Club Information Systems/ Technical Coordinator by overseeing all computer, server and point of sales systems, Wifi, service, repair and maintenance.
  • Maintain cash flow of the working account, petty cash account, and caddy cash.
  • Manage and conduct internal audits to assure that records are accurately maintained and that established policies and practices are consistently followed.
  • Prepare all work papers and attain satisfactory conclusion of annual external audit.
  • Serve as the club specialist on all matters related to annual and special audits, insurance, employment records and employee benefits.
  • Maintain check registers, general journal, payroll and personnel files and depreciation accounts.
  • Manage all banking relationships.
  • Assure timely filing for all taxes and licenses and other compliance filings.
  • Reconcile all bank statements.
  • Audit and pay all club bills and invoices.
  • Review all contracts.
  • Attend all Finance Committee, Board of Director and Key Manager Meetings and prepare supporting documentation for those meetings.
