(Greek Letter) Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta

Membership Contract

This Membership Contract (“Contract”) is made effective as of August 1, 20XX by and between (Greek Letter) Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta Inc., (“Chapter”), and ______, (“Member”).

  1. TERM. The agreement term will begin on August 1, 20XX and terminate on July 31, 20XX.

(If using this for spring new members then term begins on Bid Day date and terminates on July 31, 20XX.)

  1. ATTENDANCE. Member agrees to attend mandatory chapter events except when an absence is excused.

Refer to Chapter Standing Rules for regulations.

  1. PAYMENTS. Chapter utilizes Billhighway as its online billing service, invoices are emailed to member and parent (if guarantor). Billhighway’s website is Billhighway.com. If members’ payments are late, Billhighway will levy a three percent late fee in addition to any late fees charged by Chapter.

Payment Plans

Option 1

Option 2

Fall

  • Installment 1 - $XX due on September 15

(Work with your chapter financial advisor, chapter advisor or regional coordinator to set appropriate dates)

  • Installment 2 - $XXX due on October 15
  • Installment 3 - $XXX due on November

Spring

  • Installment 1 - $XXX due on February 1
  • Installment 2 - $XXX due on March 1
  • Installment 3 - $XXX due on April 1

Section 2

Late fees and fines are as follows: (You should customize late fees to your chapter’s Standing Rules.)

a)There is no grace period for late payments. A $25installment penalty will be assessed for late payments.

b)Delinquent members will have no voting or social privileges.

c)Officers delinquent greater than 14 days will be removed from office.

d)Members delinquent greater than 14 days may be put on registration hold. (If your university does this.)

e)Members delinquent greater than 30 days will have an executive hearing and will possibly be sent to a collection agency.

f)For any bounced check, a $35 charge will be added to cover bank charges.

g)There is a late fee of three percent, assessed by Billhighway

  1. CONDITIONS. Member must either be an initiated or un-initiated new member of the (Greek Letter) Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. If membership or affiliation with Sorority should terminate during the term of the Agreement, Member’s privileges will be terminated without refund of any chapter dues paid.

If the Charter of the (Greek Letter) Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta should be revoked or withdrawn for any reason by the International Council of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, this Agreement shall terminate upon written notice to Member without refund of any chapter dues paid.

Gamma Phi Beta reserves the right to terminate this contract for serious infractions of Sorority regulations.

  1. DEFAULTS. Member shall be in default of this Agreement, if Member fails to fulfill any Agreement obligation or term by which Member is bound. Subject to any governing provisions of law to the contrary, if Member fails to cure any financial obligation within 30 days (or any other obligation within 30 days) after written notice of such default is provided by Chapter to Member, Chapter may submit Member’s account to a collection agency without further notice (to the extent permitted by law), and without prejudicing Chapter’s rights to damages.
  1. CHAPTER/HOUSE RULES. Member must agree to abide by current Gamma Phi Beta Bylaws, Gamma Phi Beta Policies and Procedures and (Greek Letter) Chapter Standing Rules.
  1. NOTICE. Notices under this Agreement shall not be deemed valid unless given or served in writing and forwarded by mail, postage prepaid, addresses as follows;

Such addresses may be changed from time to time by either party by providing notice as set forth above.

  1. SEVERABILITY. If any portion of this Agreement shall be held to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid and enforceable. If a court finds that any provision of this Agreement is invalid or unenforceable, but that by limiting such provision it would become valid and enforceable, then such provision shall be deemed to be written, construed, and enforced as so limited.
  1. CUMULATIVE RIGHTS. The rights of the parties under this Agreement are cumulative and shall not be construed as exclusive unless otherwise required by law.

10. GOVERNING LAW. This Agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of (Fill In).
