The North Louisiana Economic Partnership, an Accredited Economic Development Organization, provides professional economic development services to the 14 parish region of North Louisiana, including lead generation and prospect management. The organization also represents the interests of North Louisiana with a unified voice and as a single point of contact. It acts as a catalyst, a convener, and a connector in the region to ensure that North Louisiana’s economic development potential is realized. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1)Assist in implementing the business development strategies of the NLEP with a particular focus on information and communication technology and professional services sectors:

  • Respond to prospect inquiries and coordinate prospect visits as assigned, including gathering and professional packaging of required information, working with other prospect team members (both inside and outside the organization), and managing all logistical requirements of assigned prospect visits.
  • Maintain current electronic and hard copy documentation of prospects/projects for organizational planning and reporting using approved reporting systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all business inquiries and prospect/project information.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with NLEP partners throughout the region to facilitate the prospect/project management process.
  • Participate in business development strategy sessions.

2)Assist in implementing the talent development program of the NLEP:

  • Enhance strong relationships with higher education leadership and develop a thorough knowledge of the strengths and assets of regional institutions.
  • Enhance relationships with K-12 Superintendents and the leaders of the regional career education (Jump Start) teams.
  • Build a network of regional alumni leaders to develop talent programming and communication channels
  • Plan and execute talent marketing and recruitment trips outside the region.
  • Other talent-related duties as assigned.

3)Represent the NLEP on committees, Boards and associations as assigned.

4)Participate in continuing professional education that enhances relevant professional acumen.

5)Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

1)Bachelor’s Degree required

2)Two years related experience and /or training preferred.

3)Experience in the information and communication technology sector

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

1)Ability to write basic reports, business correspondence, prospect or investor materials in English.

2)Ability to handle inquiries through effective face-to-face, telephone and/or email communication.

3)Ability to deal personably and positively with individuals, including staff, prospects, investors,and the general public.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:

1)Typing and word processing.

2)Significant experience with computers and high level mastery of or capacity to quickly learn software utilized by North Louisiana Economic Partnership, including Microsoft Office and Salesforce.

3)Experience with common office equipment.

OTHER SKILLS, KNOWLEDGEand ABILITIES:

1)Ability to pursue various projects simultaneously to completion.

2)Must work cooperatively with other employees and be a team player.

3)Willingness/ability to work past normal NLEP business hours on occasion to complete needed work/projects.

4)Access to reliable transportation is required as NLEP covers a large region where all staff may be required to travel at times.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid, current Louisiana Driver’s License.

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: This position will be based in the Monroe office of the NLEP but requires frequent travel throughout the fourteen-parish region of the NLEP, as well as statewide, national and occasionally international travel.
