Great swimming at Nowra Swim Club

Another great night of swimming at Nowra Swimming Club last Thursday night, with the strokes of freestyle and butterfly. It’s great to see swimmers improving their times and having fun!

The 16m events are where it all starts, and a big congratulations to all our 16m swimmers. For many this is their first swimming at swim club and all put in a huge effort. Also the 16m butterfly is one of the more challenging strokes but great to see everyone having a go. Congrats to: Maddison Jones; Roneesha Nykolyn, Lisa Jones-Bell, Haylie Bodycott, Jack Allen, Ella Butler, Reegan Caple, Bailey Allen, Jackson Turner, Jacqualine Marshall, Malachi Drury, Linkin Pearce and Jason Tattersall.

In the 25m events also great swimming. It’s also great to see swimmers swimming a variety of events, as an extra swim or two as an “exhibition” swimmer. Congrats to: Jai Brook, Emily Jones-Bell, Kyle Barnes, Ella Butler, Tyreece Brook, Jason Tattersall, Malachi Drury, Linkin Pearce, Bailey Allen, Reegan Caple, Jacqualine Marshall, Aurora Boatswain, Haylie Bodycott, Jackson Turner, Joshua Dunn, Jeremy Brook, Nakita Boatswain, Kelsie Daley, Isabella Schilko, Max Doody and Chloe Marshall.

The 50m swimmers also swam very well. Great to see our adult swimmers swimming as well. All in all about 100 swims for the night. Congrats everyone.

In other interesting Nowra Swim Club news, a group of members has been very busy this week dismantling and removing everything out of the Nowra Swim Club rooms, making way for the club room to be demolished. The club room has been there for fifty years, and available for community/school use, so there was both much happiness, sadness and remembering many great memories as we sorted through and stored items. However, it will be a new era with the Nowra Pool being rebuilt this year.

Nowra Swim Club also wishes all swimmers the best of luck as they return to school and in their upcoming swimming carnivals. We know you will be ready – most of all have fun.

On the carnival front, keep in mind that the SESA Summer Area Championships and Speedo Sprint Heats are being held at Ulladulla on 8th and 9th February 2014. As the online entry system is not currently working, entries along with payment need to be in with the Nowra Swim Club Carnival Secretary, Fiona Phillips, well before the closing date.

Remember, all the results for Nowra Swim Club, including PB’s, swimmer of the week, swimmer of the month as well as all the latest news are now uploaded onto the Nowra Swim club website www.nowra.swimming.org.au

For enquiries please hone Fiona Phillips on 0434 626669.
