Teen CulinaryInternship Application
Description of Teen Culinary Internship: Great Basin Naturalists at Galena Residential Camps offer outdoor, science camps for kids ages 8-12 for five weeks each summer. This experience is supported by meals that are healthy, locally-sourced where possible, and delicious.
Food presentation and education includes the concepts of:
- Eat the Rainbow
- Add Power to your Plate
- Grains Detective
Culinary interns gain valuable experience in all kitchen stations, take a leadership role in food presentation and service, assist with food preparation, learn healthy recipes, and work with our amazing Chef.
Evenings are spent with campers, where Culinary Interns assist with educational, recreational, craft, or other camp-related activities.
Responsibilities: The Culinary intern will perform varied tasks from day to day, which include:
·Assist with daily prep
·Assist with purchasingfood and other supplies
·Learn healthy recipes
·Prepare healthy food
·Serve meals
·Assist with nutrition education for camper
·Assist with kitchen maintenance and cleaning
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in the environment and outdoor activities
- Strong interest in the culinary arts
- Excellent character, integrity and flexibility
- Ability to communicate with all ages
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control
- Ability to be flexible and adjust to a variety of circumstances

6. The schedule for this internshipis arriving at 9:00 am on Monday and leaving at 5:00 pm on Friday afternoon. A daily schedule is flexible, but will generally be 7:00-12:00 pm, and 4:00-7:00 pm
