3. Project Purpose – Problem Being Addressed: The water quality problem the project addresses is sediment in tailwater discharged from irrigated lands in eastern Contra Costa County.
4. Project Goals
a. Short-term Goals: The short-term goal is to technically and financially assist local growers to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of management practices that will reduce the quantity or improve the quality of runoff from their irrigated crop lands.
b. Long-term Goals: Conduct outreach to transfer the information on the benefits, effectiveness, and lessons learned from the implemented management practices so that more growers can implement beneficial management practices.
5. Project Location: (lat/longs, watershed, etc.) Individual project sites are located in eastern Contra Costa County within the East County Delta Drainages and the Kellogg Creek Watershed.
