The objective of the Riverslea Trust Fund is:
To provide initiatives that inspire, challenge, and develop Christian spirituality and leadership in young people.
The Mission Statement of the Anglican Diocese of Wellington:
We are family, we are disciples, we care for the last, the lost, and the least.
Successfulapplications will reflect one or all of the three themes in the diocesan mission statement.
Key diocesan themes for 2017:
- Discipleship
- Child Poverty
- Climate Change
Riverslea 2017 focus:
Projects/initiatives that engage with families and enable them to be fully alive in faith communities.
Projects/initiatives that support and resource a movement of family on a mission.
Projects/initiatives aimed at discipling young people.
Training, development, and support for children and youth ministry volunteers.
Projects/initiatives that encourage children and youth to be missionaries in their communities.
Applications have to demonstrate they are working towards a sustainable ministry through strategic long-term planning.
The target age group is to/with those up to 25.

Is Your Project Eligible For Funding?
This checklist is designed to help you know if your application can be considered for the Riverslea Trust Fund. Please indicate all criteria your proposed project falls under with a tick.
□ Within a Parish or Ministry Unit under the authority of the Anglican
Diocese of Wellington.
□ Meets the objective of the Riverslea Trust Fund. (See front cover)
□ Aligned with the Mission of the Wellington Anglican Diocese.(See front cover)
□ Primarily targeting young people aged up to 25 years of age.
□ Led by a not-for-profit, church-based group.
□ Is a local response to an identified need in the community.
□ Uses networks and relationships between parishes/ministry units within your cluster.
Note that the board looks favourably upon applications from projects where parishes/mission units within a cluster are working together.
These are the kinds of projects the board is looking for:
- Projects that engage with families, enabling them to be fully alive in church
- Youth Workers in schools
- Training, development, and support for children and youth ministry volunteers
- Projects where strategic long-term planning is evident (in terms of funding, discipleship, and leadership)
- Projects aimed at discipling young people
- Intergenerational church initiatives

Answer all questions in this application form.
Include with your application a copy of minutes from a vestry meeting (or other relevant governing body) indicating notice to apply to funders for
the project namedin this application.
Include with your application a training schedule for the individual or
team involved in the project.
Include with your application evidence/verification of external
supervision for the individual or team involved in the project, as well as a
training schedule for all leadership involved.
Include with your application any references and/or letters of support
from relevant people or groups in your community, where applicable.
