Juniors and sophomores! Parent Permission Forms may be picked up in the front office beginning Monday, April 30. You will need to check HAC online for days available. Office staff will not check your attendance for you. Please do not have your parents call. Semester exam days for juniors and sophomores are May 22, 23, and 24.
The Southside Orchestra would like to invite students and faculty to a night of powerful music. The Orchestra will be performing classics by Dvorak, Mozart, and Bach as well as cinematic music from around the world.
Graduating seniors will be honored at the beginning of the concert.
Concert: Monday, April 30, Southside High School Auditorium, 7pm
Sign-up sheets for Spring Fling 3 on 3 basketball tournament will be posted on the main gym door. Deadline for sign-ups is Friday April 27th.
Seniors, please stop by the tables outside of the cafeteria on Wednesday to pick up your MAV BASH graduation party permission slips. Ticket sales begin Thursday and will continue through May 4th. You will need a parent’s signature before you can buy your ticket.
Senior Council will sponsor a lunch jam on Wednesday in the cafeteria with prom DJ Marc Sparks from MSsoundworks. Come and experience the music and have fun as seniors get ready for prom!
Seniors: You may begin signing up for your final transcript to be sent to your college in Ms. Calhoun’s office starting May 1ST. Your transcript will not be sent otherwise. The cost is $1 for each transcript and must be paid for when you sign up. We do not send immunization records. It is the student’s responsibility to send those.
Seniors who want to run for prom king and queen may signup April 30 through May 4 in Mrs. Ferguson's room, room 262. Voting for prom king and queen will be held May 4 after the morning announcements.
2018-19 Course Requests Change Procedure/Deadline
To request a change to your 2018-19 Course Requests, please submit a signed note from a parent/guardian by May 11th. Specify what course requests are to be added and/or dropped. Course request changes are subject to availability.
FBLA Seniors, graduation regalia may be ordered in Room 130. Forms are available outside the classroom door. Orders must be placed by 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 25.
Seniors are reminded to login to their Arkansas Dept. of Higher Education YOUniversal account to check their state scholarship status. Awards must be accepted or declined online through the student's individual ADHE account. Seniors may view an award status list in the counselor's office and should see their counselor if they have any questions.
If you are a WATC Completer, please see Mrs. Person in the main office for your graduation cord.

Senior Honor Society members: Stole orders are in. Pick up your Honor Society stole after school in room 251. Orders will only be distributed after school.
Prom Tickets may be purchased from Mrs. Hall in the Business Office. Only seniors may purchase tickets. Ticket cost is $20 for seniors and $30 for a non-senior date. No tickets will be sold at the door, and tickets are required for entrance. See Mrs. Ferguson if you have any questions.
Attention sophomores: Elections for next year's Junior Council officers will be held May 2. If you have any questions, please stop by Mrs. Beland's room- Room 257- between classes.
National FRENCH Honor Society Senior members in GOOD standing may order their cords in ROOM 215 for $10 each.
Driver's Ed will be offered this summer at Southside if there is enough students interested. The session dates are June 4-22, morning or afternoon. If interested, please get a form from the counseling office.
Partners in Christ meets in the Library every Tuesday morning at 7:45. Please join us!
ACT requires a picture; East lab will be happy to help you with uploading your picture if you need help!
Seniors are reminded to search the counseling wiki, shscounseling.pbworks.com, for scholarships regularly and sign up for College representative visits.
