MASTER DEGREE STUDENTS GRADUATING FALL QUARTER, 2014

***************DEADLINES and PROCEDURES***************

FINAL FOLDER CHECK First Week of Quarter

q  Request a final folder check from the Office of Graduate Studies and Research as soon as you have registered for the quarter. You must have a Course of Study and Graduate Committee and Option Approval form on file. After your folder check has cleared, you will receive a packet in the mail with your Permit to schedule orals, portfolio review and/or final exam.

FINAL EXAMINATION

q  The Permit to schedule orals/portfolio review/final exam must be completed, signed and returned to the Graduate Studies Office at least 3 weeks prior to the date selected and no later than November 21, 2014 to meet the Fall Quarter degree deadline.

q  Present 4 copies of your brief to the Graduate Studies Office 2 weeks prior to the final examination. (A sample brief can be found on the Graduate Studies website on the forms/guidelines link.)

q  All degree requirements must be completed by December 1, 2014 for the degree to be awarded Fall Quarter.

APPLICATION FOR THE DEGREE AND FEES PAID

q  The application for the degree must be completed on or before December 1, 2014, after you have successfully completed your final examination. Your degree fee and binding fees (if a thesis option) must be paid at this time as well.

THESIS

q  One binder clipped plain paper copy must be submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies and Research by December 1, 2014. Once your thesis corrections are satisfactorily completed you will submit 3 copies of your thesis on 100% cotton paper to Graduate Office per the The Thesis Guidelines and Regulations.

PROJECTS

q  Projects are submitted directly to the academic department.

NOTE: All degree requirements including clearance of “incompletes” must be cleared by the deadline date, December 1, 2014. The “in progress” grades for thesis/project/exam credits will be changed at the time your degree is awarded. Courses for which you are currently registered must be completed by the last day of the current quarter.
