This Exhibit Contains: Power Point Presentation

Rationale and Support: The care of infants and children requires guidance for parents (Burns, Dunn, Brady, Starr, & Blosser, 2013; Hornor, 2013). It is a family coordinating effort to care for children and the use of anticipatory guidance with multiple resources are in effect essential to care. This power point provides essential components that were useful in the management of concerns in parents and in providing appropriate care. Some of these resources are from multiple websites and textbooks in a coordinating effort for referral to the help guide parents and care giving. Horner (2013) discusses the risk factors which are essential in screening for child maltreatment. Some of the screening and assessment that is discussed is the noting of the parental mental health, support systems, and involvement with child protective services (Horner, 2013).

Reflection:

The proper care of children requires multiple resources for the child and the family with the need for screening with developmental delays (Bunt & Bunt, 2014). The screening for the most common chromosomal abnormality requires the use of genetic referrals, hearing referrals, cardiology referrals, and possibly endocrinology due to growth and thyroid abnormalities. The support and anticipation of screening needs and concerns for families with developmental delays and the use of social support is essential in proper growth and development (Bunt & Bunt, 2014; Hornor, 2013).
