Dear Students and Parents/Guardians:
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Edenwood Middle School in September and look forward to sharing a successful year ahead.
As indicated in our Code of Conduct, coming to class prepared for learning is essential for student success. In order to be fully prepared in the coming year it is suggested that each student come to school every day with sufficient supplies. The following are suggestions:
- Dividers
- Reinforcements
- Large binder(s)
- 3-holed lined paper
- Pencils
- Red, blue and black pens
- Calculator
- Glue stick
- Coloured pencil crayons
- Hi-lighters
- Markers
- Spiral notebook (rough drafts)
- Erasers
- Blank Paper
- Pencil case (those with binder holes are best)
- Small ruler in the pencil case
- Compass and protractor set
You will receive a separate letter in September regarding the Optional Materials available at an additional cost (Locks, SPC discount cards & later in the school year, Yearbooks). This is totally separate from the instrumental optional music program that you may have paid if your child is going to play an instrument.

11:15 – 12:05 p.m. / Lunch (50 minutes)
12:05 – 12:15 pm / Entry/Lockers (10 minutes)
12:15 – 1:15 p.m. / Period #4 (60 minutes)
1:15 – 2:15 p.m. / Period #5 (60 minutes)
2:15 p.m. / Dismissal
**Students are expected to be sitting in their seat, ready for attendance and instruction, when the bell rings at8:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
Class Lists Posted–in the front hall inside the front doors of the school - indicating class and room number. Wednesday, Aug. 30 – Thursday Aug. 31 from 10:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 1 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.

-September 5th, the first day of school, please go to the back of the school where you will find the door that has your class number posted on it. You will enter this door to go to your classroom. Class lists will also be posted there and teachers will be carrying class lists outside at 8:00 a.m.

Code of Conduct
1.Speak and act with RESPECT
Everyone has the right to be treated with respect. Physical, verbal, sexual or psychological abuse, bullying, or discrimination on the basis of race, culture, religion, gender, language, disability, sexual orientation or any other attribute is not accepted. Everyone is expected to demonstrate respect for personal property and also for the property of others. Damage to property in the school environment (including school grounds, school buses) is unacceptable.
2.Contribute to maintaining a safe and orderly environment
For safety reasons articles such as the following are not allowed at Edenwood: weapons, guns of
any kind (including toy guns and water guns), firecrackers, smoke bombs, cigarettes, illegal drugs of any sort, alcohol, matches, lighters, laser pointers, aerosol spray cans, etc.
The possession and/or display of weapons on school property may result in a recommendation for expulsion.
The use, possession or trafficking of drugs may result in suspension and/or expulsion.
Play fighting, fighting and physical contact of any kind are not permitted.
All students are expected to report unsafe and inappropriate behaviour to an adult –
"TheImportance of Reporting"
3.Dress appropriately for school environment
Clothing should be appropriate to Edenwood's Dress Code. (See Below)
4.Attend school regularly and be on time
Regular attendance is essential. Everyone is responsible for all work missed during any absence. Everyone is expected to be in class on time. Students should proceed directly to the next class at the end of each period.
5.Arrive prepared for class
Everyone must bring his/her Edenwood Agenda and all necessary materials and assignments to class.
6.Complete all assignments with your best effort and on time
All assignments/tests must reflect academic honesty and integrity - "Dream, Believe, Be The Best You
Can Be"
Dress Code
Edenwood's Dress Code was developed in consultation with School Council, parents, teachers, students and school administration. At Edenwood, everyone is expected to come to school dressed according to our dress code which is based on the 3 C's – Clean, Comfortable, Covered. This encompasses Respect for Self, School and Community.
