Grade 11 College Culminating Project
This culminating project consists of 5 review packages and 1 final review sheet. Students will spend 1 period each constructing a review package on a given unit within the Grade 11 College Biology course. After all 5 review packages have been made; students will spend the remainder of the time generating the final review sheet to be used during the exam.
Each period, students will be assessed on how effectively they have used classroom time/resources and the quality of their questions in the review package. Students will hand in their review package at the end of each period.
The review packages will be evaluated according to a rubric.
Day 1 Genetics Review Package
1) Students are to review their notebook and/or textbook on the Genetics Unit.
2) Students are to generate 5 multiple choice questions and provide the correct answers.
3) Students are to generate 5 true/false questions and provide the correct answers. If the answer is false, write a statement to make it true.
4) Students are to generate 5 short answer questions and provide the correct answers.
5) Students are to generate 1 monohybrid cross and provide a proper solution.
6) Students are to generate 1 sex linkage cross and provide a proper solution.
Day 2 Cellular Biology Review Package
1) Students are to review their notebook and/or textbook on the Cellular Biology Unit.
2) Students are to generate 5 multiple choice questions and provide the correct answers.
3) Students are to generate 5 true/false questions and provide the correct answers. If the answer is false, write a statement to make it true.
4) Students are to generate 5 short answer questions and provide the correct answers.
Day 3 Microbiology Review Package
1) Students are to review their notebook and/or textbook on the Microbiology Unit.
2) Students are to generate 5 multiple choice questions and provide the correct answers.
3) Students are to generate 5 true/false questions and provide the correct answers. If the answer is false, write a statement to make it true.
4) Students are to generate 5 short answer questions and provide the correct answers.
Day 4 Anatomy of Mammals Review Package
1) Students are to review their notebook and/or textbook on the Anatomy of Mammals Unit.
2) Students are to generate 5 multiple choice questions and provide the correct answers.
3) Students are to generate 5 true/false questions and provide the correct answers. If the answer is false, write a statement to make it true.
4) Students are to generate 5 short answer questions and provide the correct answers.
Day 5 Plants in the Natural Environment Review Package
1) Students are to review their notebook and/or textbook on the Plants in the Natural Environment Unit.
2) Students are to generate 5 multiple choice questions and provide the correct answers.
3) Students are to generate 5 true/false questions and provide the correct answers. If the answer is false, write a statement to make it true.
4) Students are to generate 5 short answer questions and provide the correct answers.
Day 6/7 Final Review Sheet
1) Students will use all 5 review packages to create 1 Final Review Sheet.
