GRACE PRAYER WATCH

Week Beginning – June 12, 2017

DAY 1:

[PRAISE]

Acts 1:7-9 He (Jesus) said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by His own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and to the ends of the earth.” After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight.

It is Not For Us To Know

It is not for us to know the time

or the date of our Lords return.

It is only by His own authority

that He will return to our world.

He wants to give His people another chance.

Another chance to turn their hearts

to Him and be with Him in Heaven one day.

No man or anyone has ever seen the Lord.

Our Lord is Holy, so Holy.

One day on that last day when

our Lord returns, we will see

Him and we will be taken up to Heaven.

Then we will truly be His witness.

We will be transformed.

Maybe we will be taken up to Heaven

in the clouds as Jesus was.

It is not for us to know – now.

Father, we praise You because You are coming again! May we live ready. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

DAY 2:

[THANKSGIVING]

Revelation 21:1-4 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Father God, we give thanks for the promise of our new home with You! Thank You for the promise of dwelling with You. Thank You for the promise of no more death, mourning, crying, or pain. Thank You that we are not meant to stay wrapped up in an earthly place of decay and death, but rather we look forward to all that You are getting ready for us to come home to You. We look forward to home for all eternity. In the powerful Name of Jesus, Amen.

DAY 3:

[CONFESSION]

Ephesians 6:10-12 Finally, be strong in the Lordand in His mighty power.Put on the full armor of God,so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powersof this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Father, forgive us when we do not live knowing we are strong in You and have access to Your mighty power. Forgive us for not wearing God-given armor to take our stand. Forgive us when we perceive the struggle to be against people rather than our true foes: the powers of this dark world and spiritual forces of evil. Let us choose to be armed with Your provisions for battle that we are able to live as people of God. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

DAY 4:

[INTERCESSION]

Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure.”

Father, may President Trump and all who are involved with the making of decisions in the United States purpose to bless the nation of Israel. May we always seek the welfare of Your chosen nation. Let decisions and policies firmly demonstrate our allegiance to Israel. May our nation honor You by the way we honor those You love. In the Mighty Name of Christ, our Redeemer, Amen.

DAY 5:

[INTERCESSION]

Lamentations 3:21-23 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

Father, remind each one at Grace Christian Fellowship of Your great Truth: Your compassions never fail; they are new every morning. Let us acknowledge that Your faithfulness is the reason for our hope. Let us purpose to share the hope we have. And especially as we draw closer to our Summer Science Spectacular and have the opportunity to minister to children and their families. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

WEEKEND PRAYER FOR OUR PASTOR:

Hebrews 10:35-36

So do not throw away your confidence;it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevereso that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

For,

“In just a little while,
he who is comingwill come
and will not delay.”

And,

“But my righteous one will live by faith.
And I take no pleasure
in the one who shrinks back.”

But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

Father, thank you for my pastor. I pray your blessing on him in his every role – as a pastor, husband, father, businessman, and leader. Each role You have called him to is deeply and eternally meaningful and is significant and important to You. By the power of Your Spirit, he is able and capable of persevering in every role. Fortify his confidence in Your love and sovereign purposes as he seeks you daily and submits to Your will. May Your good purposes be accomplished, unhindered by any lack of faith. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“The key to thankfulness is not to view God through the lens of our circumstances, but to view our circumstances through the lens of God’s love and sovereign purpose.” ~Anne Graham Lotz
