GPS-GSM TRACKING SYSTEM

1- Programming your GSM-GPS tracking system:

Connect the tracker to a PC computer with the connection cable.

Connect the GSP antenna to the tracker. (The DB9 socket).

Turn on the tracker.

Launch the HyperTerminal program on your PC

(START / PROGRAMS / ACCESSORIES / COMMUNICATION / HYPERTERMINAL)

NAME: FAUCON2000

ICON: MCI

Select the option: CONNECT USING (and the COM port connected to the tracker)

Click on OK

Enter the following data:

BITS PER SECOND: 9600

DATA BITS: 8

PARITY: NONE

STOP BITS: 1

FLOW CONTROL: Xon/Xoff

Click on OK

Type: PAS (Capital block), “Choix de l’operateur“: Type A (Autres) press ENTER

Enter the SMS centre number for the tracker SIM card (on your phone go to SMS then Setting then SMS center) (Example +44 7xxxxxx)

Enter the mobile number which will receive the SMS (vehicle position): (example +44 7 XXXXX). The country code must be entered in case the vehicle goes overseas.

Press ENTER

Enter the PIN code of SIM card which is in the tracker.

Temporisation: NON

“Confirmation de la programmation“: If the data is OK type O or N to start again.

The programming is over. You can disconnect the cable.

Remove the four screws on the tracker. Slide the PCB to uncover the SIM cardholder.

Insert the SIM card and close the tracker.

2- Fitting:

There are two cables on the tracker:

RED = Live

BLACK = Neutral

If fitted permanently on the car, connect the red cable (LIVE) to the live of the car battery. It can be done directly to the battery or in one of the relay boxes. Connect the Blue cable (Neutral) to one of the neutral cable of the vehicle (relay box)

If fitted temporarily and if you do not have access to the vehicle, you can use a rechargeable 12-volt battery.

Connect the GPS antenna to the tracker and fit it on the car.

The GPS signal will pass through glass, fibreglass, but not through a metal part.

The best position would be under the front bumper as most of the modern cars have a plastic like bumper.

3- Locate the vehicle:

Using the mobile phone whose number you entered in the Sim card of the tracker, send to the tracker SIM card the following SMS: 555 (just three digits without any space).

Within a few seconds it will text you back the vehicle position (latitude and longitude).

You just have to enter these data in any handheld GPS or any mapping software (Route 66 or similar).

Alternatively, you can use the free mapquest service on Internet:

Click on MAP

Click on: Latitude/longitude

Enter the data to pinpoint the vehicle location.

4- Precaution:

The tracker must not be left without being connected to a power supply for more the 5 weeks. If not, you may have to send us back the system to reprogram the GPS magnetic head. An £80.00 service charge + P&P will occur.

5- Information:

The average time for a SMS to be received is 60 seconds.

Led on the tracker:

Slow flashing of the LED light means you are connected to the GSM network

Rapid flashing of the LED light means you are receiving a text from the tracker.

Fixed light: No GSM network.
