CIRCULAR

The Competent Authority is pleased to allow the approval of retro fitment of CNG Kit of Livon Gas Equipment, T-2475, subhash Mohalla, Opp. Naiwala, Street , Faiz Road, Karol Bagh, New Delhi in the following “In-use” Diesel vehicles models fitted with Catalytic Converter:-

1. / In continuation of ICAT certificate no. CAEA 0018 dated 16/03/2009 , for base model Maruti – Wagon R, 1061cc, August 2005 make, the designated testing agency CIRT has approved the “Layout Plan” of the following vehicle models for retrofitment of CNG kits:-
1.  Maruti Esteem, 1298cc, March 2006.
2.  Hyundai i20, 1197cc, Oct.2009.
3.  Chevrolet Beat, 1199cc, March 2010.
4.  Skoda Fabia, 11998cc, July 2008.
5.  Hyundai i10, 1197cc, Feb. 2010.
6.  Hyundai Getz, 1086cc, May 2007.
7.  Ford Figo, 1200cc, March 2010.
8.  LMV Fiat Grande, 1172cc, August 2009 / CIRT/CMVR/V00272/2010/R236 Dated: 30th June 2010.
Validity:-1. The CNG converted In-Use base model Maruti Wagon R, 1061cc, meets Bharat Stage –III norms, Same Kit can therefore be fitted to CNG retrofitted, MPFI, “In-Use “ Gasoline vehicle model fitted with O.E. Catalytic converted as above, as it is within prescribed + 25% cc range.
2.All conditions and compliance requirements ,including validity (Ist January 2005 till the validity of Bharat Stage III norms), given in the certificate issued for “In-Use” basse model “ Maruti Wagon R” 1061cc, August 2005 make are also applicable for above said “In-Use” base models.
3. This certificate is valid up-to 15th March 2012 i.e 3 year from the date of its issue or until further amendment in CMV Rules whichever is earlier.

As per the type approval certificate, testing agency has certified the compliance of provision of the CMVR, 1989 as amended up to date, including GSR 853(E) dt. 19.11.2001, GSR 111(E) dated 10.02.04 ,GSR 589(E) dt. 16.9.2005 & GSR 784(E) dt. 12.11.2008.

Kit Manufacture/Supplier/Distributor is directed to ensure the strict compliance of CMV Rule 1989, as amended up to date & retrofitment should be carryout at the authorized workshops only. Further, approval is accorded subject to ensuring fitment of same components, parts/assemblies etc. which were produced before testing agencies before submission of the vehicle for alteration.

All MLOs/Registering Authorities shall, at the time of registration, verify the CCoE approval for the CNG cylinder and cylinder Valve, in respect of make/Identification Number (as referred in Technical Specification of CNG system) and documental reference for quantity/Sr. No. cleared by DoE, time to time. Further, it should also be ensure that the retro fitment of kit must be in accordance with the layout plan for retro fitment, terms & condition and validity given in the type approval certificate as mentioned above and to accept endorsement of Gas Kit on the Registration Certificate subject to fulfillment of provisions of Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 and Rule made their under the department instructions/order issued time to time in this regard.
