Language Arts

This week we will be testing the students over their sight words. The students will sit one-on-one with Mrs Hart or Myself and we will do the testing just the way you would do flash cards with them. I don’t like to stress the children out, so they really don’t even realize they are being tested. The students will bring home a form that tells you which words they struggled with and which words they got correct. The students will either move on to a leveled book that matches their ability or they will be tested over the sigh words again the next week!

The students have begun screening by the Speech/Language teacher. If she sees a problem, I will be sure to let you know what she has found. If you have any concerns for the Speech/Language instructor, you may email her at

Handwriting

The students have completed the numbers 12 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 & 10. This week we will do double digits.

Unit

We are finishing up transportation and community helpers this week. We will slowly switch to Animals and will fully be into our Animal unit by Monday. We are also throwing in some activities on the seasons as we switch from Summer to Fall.

Religion

This week we are focusing on why we are special and our individual gifts and talents! We are attending Mass on Friday and immediately after we will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi in the gym if you would like to bring your pet. You are also most welcome to send in a picture of your pet.
