October is Breast Cancer Awareness MONTH.

SENIORS:Herff Jones will be here Tuesday & Wednesday, October 27 & 28, to take graduation orders. All orders require a $60 deposit or payment in full if the order is less than $60. JUNIORS & SENIORS, they will also take orders/payments on senior rings those days.

Key Club is trick-or-treating for UNICEF. Donations will be taken in 2nd period classes to end maternal and neonatal tetanus in developing countries. First place winner-kolaches & donuts, Second place-donut holes, Third place-candy.

There will be a meeting for all students that signed up to be men’s basketball students assistants on Tuesday, October 27th.at 4:00 pm in the men’s basketball office.

RYLA 2016 is coming! If you are a junior with outstanding leadership skills, you need to apply to attend the RYLA Leadership Camp on the weekend of January 8-10. There is no cost for the retreat. Please see Mrs. Stanaland for more information and application instructions.

Flu Shots for Students have arrived. Those interested must get a form from Nurse Stewartby today.

Men’s Soccer team is selling tamales during the month of October. We will be selling Pork and Chicken tamales for $10 a dozen. See any soccer player to purchase your tamales. Pickup date will be November 20th at the stadium parking lot.

October 26-30 is Red Ribbon Week.

Congratulations to the NHS Twirling Line for earning 18 medals at Wednesdays UIL Twirling Competition held at Lufkin HS. Earning the top rating in solos were sophomores Gabriela Kilmer, Emileigh Chassell and Lupe Alvarez. Seniors earning a top rating were Brooke Petty, Brianna Boyland, Makayla Kilmer and Head Twirler Emily Hopson. Ensembles earning the top award were: Brianna Boyand, Emileigh Chassell and Katelynn Rodriguez. Katherine Blough, Lisbeth Escobar, Makayla Kilmer and Brooke Petty. And Emily Hopson, Gabriela Kilmer and Jenae Menefee. Good job ladies!
