GOLDEN
Performing Arts Center

offers children ages 7 & up the opportunity to perform in a full-scale Broadway-style musical production and to experience the camaraderie, responsibiltiy and excitement of being part of a theatre family! Established in 1985, our Musical Theatre Workshops are designed to build self-confidence and performing arts skills in an environment of friendship, encouragement and fun. Children receive training in acting, singing, dancing, stagecraft and all aspects of theatrical production. Each workshop culminates with polished productions, complete with a fully-orchestrated score, professional lighting, sound, sets, costumes and makeup, performed on stage at the beautiful Madrid Theatre in Canoga Park.

No experience is necessary to be part of a workshop. Every enrollee is guaranteed a part, and parts are always double, triple or quadruple cast to enable more children to assume larger roles. Each camper is assigned to one cast, and each cast presents two performances.

Musicals with many roles and large chorus numbers are selected to keep all participants involved and busy. Examples of past productions include: Annie, Grease, The Music Man, Oliver, 42nd Street, Good News, Fiddler on the Roof,

Guys & Dolls, Bye Bye Birdie and many others.

GPAC Administrator Shelli Miller, Director Dan Davis, Choreographer Amber McGindley and their staff strive to create an unforgettable, positive experience for each and every camper. Their main concern is to instill in each child feelings of personal worth, confidence and self-esteem while exposing them to exhilarating feelings of success and pride and accomplishment.
