Coolers will not be allowed into the Schools. Parents do not need to bring chairs. The AVBA Club has to pay to rent the schools for tournaments and all practice times. To help defray the cost of school rentals, we will have a concession stand available. Sub sandwiches, pizza, baked goods, candy, fruit, pop, water, Gatorade, and other items will be sold at a very reasonable price. We will also offer volleyball clothing and items for sale from Image Sports. Keep all food and drinks in the lunchrooms. No food or drinks other than water in the gym. Warm up with balls only in the gym, not in hallways or lunchroom. Children are to be supervised at all times. Warm up balls are not provided, but game balls will be provided. Bring your whistles.

Pool Play:Team listed first serves in game one; other team has choice of side. Ten-minute warm-up for first game of the day, then three-minute warm-up between matches after that. Make sure you are ready to play when it is your turn. Two timeouts per game. 3 and 4 team Pools: Two games to 17 with cap of 19

Seeding Tiebreakers: Overall record, head to head record, head to head points, total points, coin toss.

Afternoon Power Pool Play: Morning pool will seed you for afternoon play. Some teams may have to move to a different school.

Power Pool game schedule is same format as morning pool play schedule.

Power Pool Play is two games to 17 with cap of 19 for three and four team pools.

Seeding Tiebreakers: Overall record, head to head record, head to head points, total points, coin toss. However, can not be sent to lower tournament if tied record, then one game playoff to 13.

Tournament Play

Gold Tournament (24 teams) - Top two teams from each “power pool” advance to “Gold” Tournament.

Silver Tournament (12 teams) - All third place teams from each “power pool” advance to “Silver” Tournament.

Bronze Tournament (10 teams) - All fourth place teams from each “power pool” advance to “Bronze” Tournament.

Tournament Play –

Tournament play will be best 2 out of 3 games to 19 points with cap of 21; 3rd game - if needed, 15 points with no cap. Pay attention to ref duties. If you lose in tournament play, you will usually ref the next game on the same court that you just lost on.

Directions to Schools: Maps will be displayed at all schools because many teams will be traveling during the day to different schools depending on how they do. All schools are about five minute drive from each other in Ankeny.

Ankeny High School: From I-35, take 1st Street exit into Ankeny, heading west on 1st Street to Ankeny Blvd, turn north on Ankeny Blvd. Continue north past stop light at 9th Street one block, turn west into school parking lot. Enter on south side of school. Do not use the YMCA entrance to building.

Northview School : From I -35, take 1st Street exit into Ankeny, heading west on 1st Street to Ankeny Blvd, turn north and go to 9th Street. Turn left on 9th Street and head west. You will come to stop sign and you can see the school. Enter on east side of school.

Parkview School: From I-35, take 1st Street exit into Ankeny, heading west on 1st Street past School Street. You can see the school. Park and enter on west side of school.

Tournament Shirts: Shirts will be ready for you at the school you start playing at in the morning.
