Going For Gold Hong Kong – Olympic Co-Host City is jointly published by the Beijing Organizing Committee of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and The Hong Kong Jockey Club. This seven-chapter book records in pictures every historic moment of the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events, from the naming of Beijing as host city for the 2008 Olympics – and later Hong Kong as co-host of the Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events – to the departure of the last horses and riders at the end of the competitions. Along the way it covers the Club's construction of state-of-the-art equestrian venues and facilities in record-breaking time, the successful staging of the "Good Luck Beijing" test event, the visit of the Olympic Torch to Hong Kong and emotional pictures from the Games themselves.
GOING FOR GOLD Hong Kong – Olympic Co-Host City is printed in traditional Chinese and English, and simplified Chinese and English. The simplified Chinese version has already gone on sale in major bookshops in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
The tradional Chinese and English version will go on sale in major local bookstores from 18 February 2009 onwards.
