Gods will or not

If you listen closely to people talking you’ll find out that a lot a people think that when things happen that it’s always GODS will. I would like to try to show you today that it is not always GODS will. There are many things that are GODS will but not all things.

Luk 22:42 Saying, Father,ifthoubewilling,removethiscupfromme:neverthelessnotmywill,butthine,bedone.

Now if you have a red-letter bible you will see that this is Jesus talking here and he is saying not MY WILL. It makes it very clear that Even Jesus himself had a will that is in the flesh, of his own. This means that he could have at any time, while in the flesh, could have chosen to do whatever he wanted to do, good or bad. Now it’s obvious that he always chose to have Gods will be done over his fleshly will because had he chose his own will then he would have sinned and therefore could have in no wise become the savoir of this world. That was the very reason to go to the cross and how could he pay the penalty for all man’s sin if he himself had sin in his life. In order for him to become the “escape goat” he had to be himself blameless. Everybody seems to think that it was easy for Jesus to live without sin but he was just as much flesh as you and I and he was tempted just like and I are only he followed the will of his Father.

Mat 18:12 Howthinkye?ifamanhaveahundredsheep,andoneofthembegone astray,dothhenotleavetheninety and nine,andgoethintothemountains,andseekeththat which is gone astray?

Mat 18:13 Andifsobethathefindit,verilyIsayuntoyou,herejoicethmoreofthatsheep,thanoftheninety and ninewhich went not astray.

Mat 18:14 Even soitisnotthewillofyourFatherwhichisinheaven,thatoneoftheselittle onesshouldperish.

Now all this being said you can clearly see it is not Gods will that anyone perish.

And yet we know that people perish.

So its clear that not everything that happens is GODS will

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Now this appears as a contradiction however, just because God does not want any to perish doesn’t mean that we don’t have an appointed time of death. You see when God talks about perishing he means to be separated from himself.

Now while searching the Bible I found 23 verses that talk about “THE WILL OF GOD”

I could read them all and bore you to death but I have a list of them if any one wants them come see me, anyway I will read a few just to set the tone.

Mar 3:35,Act 13:36,Rom 1:10,Rom 8:27,Rom 12:2,Rom 15:32,1Co 1:1,2Co 1:1,2Co, 8:5Gal 1:4,Eph 1:1,Eph 6:6,Col 1:1,Col 4:12,1Th 4:3,1Th 5:18,2Ti 1:1,Heb 10:36,1Pe 2:15,1Pe 3:17,1Pe 4:2,1Pe 4:19,1Jn 2:17

Mar 3:35 ForwhosoevershalldothewillofGod,the sameismybrother,andmysister,andmother.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Eph 6:6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

1Th 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

1Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Heb 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

1Pe 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

1Pe 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

1Jn 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth

forever.

It should be very obvious that there is a definite will of GOD. So since we know there is a will of GOD then what is the will man?

Act 13:37 But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

1Co 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

2Pe 2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

so the will of man seems to lead to corruption and the will of man is to follow the lust of the flesh.

Look once again at

1Pe 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

You see the will of GOD is for your benefit

The sameismybrother,andmysister,andmother.

But be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

That ye should abstain from fornication:

(UNFAITHFULLNESS)

In every thing give thanks

Ye might receive the promise.

for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

1Pe 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

1Jn 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth

forever.

If you want to, as this last verse says, abide forever then you need to do the will of GOD. Now that basic will is the same for all of us and that is to obey his word and follow after Christ but for each one of you need to seek GOD for the will for your own personal life, because he has a different task for each one of us But Gods will is found in JOHN 3:16

Joh 3:16 ForGodsolovedtheworld,thathegavehisonly begottenSon,thatwhosoeverbelievethinhimshouldnotperish,buthaveeverlastinglife.

And to back this up he gave us the great commission in Matthew 28:19,20

Mat 28:19 Goyetherefore,andteachallnations,baptizingtheminthenameoftheFather,andoftheSon,andoftheHolyGhost:

Mat 28:20 Teachingthemtoobserveall thingswhatsoeverIhavecommandedyou:and,lo,Iamwithyoualways,evenuntotheendoftheworld. Amen.

There is a definite will of GOD but there is also the will of man and not everything that happens is Gods will but because man allows his free will to interfere with GODS will is why we see bad things happens and things that appear to be opposite GODS will, so don’t follow your own will, the lust of the Flesh, follow the Spirit of GOD and his Will
