GMS CONTRACT VACANCY IN PEN Y MAES SURGERY, SUMMERHILL, WREXHAM

Betsi Cadwaladr University Local Health Board (LHB) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified General Practitioners to take over a GMS Contract in Summerhill, Wrexham.

The busy university town of Wrexham is located in North East Wales, close to the English border with Cheshire, and is the largest town in North Wales. Situated 12 miles south of Chester, Wrexham has excellent road and rail links to the rest of North Wales and North West England. The area has a wealth of history and heritage, including National Trust properties at Erddig and Chirk Castle, and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct which is a World Heritage Site.

The practice is situated in Summerhill, a semi-urban village in the suburbs of Wrexham. Places of interest nearby include Moss Valley Golf Club and Country Park, Alyn Waters Country Park and Gwyn Evans Leisure Centre.

This is currently a Health Board Managed Practice which provides all essential, additional, and a range of enhanced, General Medical Services.

·  List Size - 8,584 patients

·  High QOF achievement

·  No Out of Hours commitment as OOH services are provided by the Health Board

·  Existing staff at the practice will transfer to the new contract holder(s) under TUPE arrangements.

·  Please note that for governance reasons, this contract will not be offered to a sole practitioner. The LHB would wish to see a minimum commitment of the equivalent of four/five whole time GPs.
