Taking the Practice Test

When you start the GMetrix practice test, the corresponding MS Office 2007 application will launch. The first question will appear on the bottom portion of your computer screen as shown in Figures 3 and 4 below.

Important note:

If the question box does not appear on your screen it is being blocked by your Windows Vista security settings. In order to fix this problem please turn your User Account Control to OFF. User Account Control can be found in your Windows Security Center.

Exit the Practice Test: You can exit a practice test at any time by clicking on the X in the bottom right corner of the question box. You will then be asked if you want to Save the test for later, Skip to the end, or Resume at this point. If you save the test, you can log in later and resume the test at the point where you saved it.

Upon completing a practice test, your test will immediately be scored and the results will be presented. You can print these results for later reference. You can also view your results online by logging in at www.gmetrix.net with your Username and Password.

Special instructions for Proxy Server environments

If your organization allows internet access only through a proxy server, the GMetrix Practice Tests may be blocked from verifying your login information or synchronizing your test results with the GMetrix Administrator. If this situation occurs, please consult with your network system administrator and have him configure the proxy server via the Network Setting link on the login screen.
