TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
Tournament Rules
The County tournaments are the first round of the National Schools tournament. Entry to any of the Tournaments is only open to schools who have paid the affiliation fee.
There will be three age groups: U19, U16, U14.
Tournament entries will be £25.00 per school per tournament (£15.00 to be refunded by attendance at the Tournament, please can you send separate cheques). No player may take part in more than one age group in the National Schools tournaments. All players must be under the specified age at midnight on 31st August 2010.
All schools entering teams for the County tournament must provide a qualified umpire (C award or higher for U16 and U19, Beginner award or higher for U14). If a team has to withdraw the school must:
a)inform the tournament organiser as soon as possible (within 48 hours).
b)still provide an umpire on the tournament day otherwise great problems do arise
It is a condition of entry that schools’ umpires are available to umpire the final rounds if required to do so by the tournament referee. It is also a condition of entry that schools are prepared to join the rota of tournament organisers to be drawn up by the Schools committee (see enclosed sheet). Teams who do not reach the finals of tournament are asked to remain until the end of the presentations.
The winners and runners up of all three tournaments will represent Gloucestershire in the South West regional round of the National Schools tournament on 22nd January 2011.
It is a policy of the committee that a member of staff from any school successful in the County tournaments attends one meeting if required prior to the South West regional round to coordinate arrangements for the tournament.

The County Tournament Dates Are:

The May Dent tournament for U15 squads, organised by Gloucestershire Netball, will take place on 12th March 2011 at Bournside School (9.00am start).
N.B. Schools must be affiliated to enter the May Dent tournament. The entry form will be sent nearer the date by Gloucestershire Netball.
TOURNAMENT ENTRIES
Schools may enter only one team per tournament.
The fee for each tournament is £25.00 (£15.00 is refundable). Please can you send a cheque for £15.00 and one for £10.00, so that instant refunds can be made on the day of the tournament.

EVERY School will be asked to supply an active B award umpire to umpire on their behalf (or a C award umpire endorsed as capable for this event by their County umpiring secretary).
Please work with your County umpiring secretary to ensure you have the umpires required for your County representative schools on the day.
Danny Neill (Netball South West) will try and help with umpiring contacts if all else fails, but if you work together early in your County environment then hopefully his services will not be needed.
N.B.This is now a National date - NSW have no say when it is. If you have a 12 court venue I would be happy to discuss if this can be used instead of Bournemouth.
Entry fees will reflect the use of your own umpires.
