TheSociety'sofficialrecordingareaisthewholeofthevice-counties33(EastGloucestershire)and34 (WestGloucestershire).However,forpracticalpurposes,certainrecordersonly covertheadministrative countyofGloucestershire, comprisingthedistrictsofCotswold, Stroud, Forest ofDean,Cheltenham, GloucesterandTewkesbury,sincetheBristolNaturalists’Society coverstheUnitary Authority ofSouth GloucestershireandtheCity ofBristol(furtherdetailsavailablefromtheindividual recordersaslisted below).

TheSociety welcomesobservationsandrecordsfrommembersandothers,andtheseshouldbesenttothe Recordersasdetailedbelow. Recordsmaybesubmittedinanyform(solongastheyarelegibleand intelligible);someRecorderspreferthemonA6cards(one perspecies),or,forcertaingroups,onthe appropriaterecordingform(availablefromtheRecorders-seebelow),thoughasimplelist(preferably in systematicorder) isacceptable for groupssuchasmoths.
