This is a regular meeting of the Glen Ridge Board of Education. Adequate notice of this meetinghas been provided in that this Board notified the Glen Ridge Paper and the Star Ledger on May 10, 2010. Said notice was published in the Star Ledger and the Glen Ridge Paper on May 13, 2010. The date, time, and location of this meeting were also emailed to all recipients of the annual schedule of the Board's meetings.

M-1 Board of Education Minutes
Approve the Glen Ridge Board of Education executive sessionand regular meetingminutesof September 13, 2010.
PERSONNEL
P-1Revise Re-Appointment
Revise the re-appointment of Pam Urban, prek teacher at Linden Avenue School, from (.5) BA Step 9 ($28,167) to (.6) $33,800 for the 2010-2011 school year to reflect her actual schedule. (salary adjustment will be made upon completion of negotiations)
P-2 Leave of Absence
Approve a maternity leave of absence to J.D. Ruffilo, English teacher at Glen Ridge High School, on or about January 1, 2011 through May 30, 2011. Ms. Ruffilo will utilize her unused sick days as per the Master Agreement. Her anticipated return is May 31, 2011.
P-3 Revise 6th Period Assignment Stipend
Revise the 6th period assignment stipend for Kevin Lagos from a full stipend ($6,179) to a .5 in the amount of $3,089.50 for the 2010-2011 school year. (salary adjustment will be made upon completion of negotiations)
P-4Substitutes
Approve the addition of Michael Velez and Olivia Crapis to the substitute list for the 2010-2011 school year.
P-5 Volunteer
Approve Karen Goldberg as a volunteer for the high school Environmental Club for the 2010-2011 school year.
P-6 Compensation to Bus Drivers for After-School and Weekend Events
Approve per trip compensation for bus drivers for after-school and weekend events relating to co-curricular and athletic activities in the amount of $145 per round trip and $275 for all-day events for the 2010-2011 school year.
P-7 Mentor
Approve Diana Bendin as anew teacher mentor for the 2010-2011 school year.

C-1 Field Trips
Approve field trips for the students of the Glen Ridge Public Schools as follows:
a.Glen Ridge High SchoolNAHS/GT-AP/3-D Art classes to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on October 20, 2010 as per the attached. (Exhibit C-1.a)
b. Glen Ridge High School concert band and chorus to compete in the North American Music Festival being held in Virginia Beach from April 1-3, 2011 as per the attached. (Exhibit C-1.b)
c. Ridgewood Avenue 6th graders to see the play Life of Edgar Allan Poe being held in Budd Lake, NJ on October 27, 2010 as per the attached. (Exhibit C-1.c)
d. Linden Avenue 1st graders to see the play Junie B. Jones being held at Montclair State University on May 11, 2011 as per the attached. (Exhibit C-1.d)
e. Linden Avenue 1st graders to attend a classroom in the barn/pumpkin picking at Stony Hill Farms in Chester, NJ on October 13, 2010 (rain date October 15, 2010) as per the attached. (Exhibit C-1.e)
f. Ridgewood Avenue 5th graders to attend the 18th Century Living History Program being held at the Ft. Lee Historic Park on September 23, 24, 29, 30, October 1, & 6, 2010 as per the attached. (Exhibit C-1.f)

B-1 Financial Reports
Approve the following financial reports as recommended by the Finance Committee:
a. Certification of Fund Balance
Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6:20-2.13(e), we certify that as ofJuly 31, 2010after review of the Secretary's monthly financial reports and upon consultation with the appropriate district officials, to the best of our knowledge no major account or fund has been over expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6:20-2.13(b) and that sufficient funds were available to meet the district's financialobligations for the fiscal year.

Approve the workshops/conferences and travel expenses for the following staff:
a. Lisbeth Crouse and Kathleen Stewart to attend the workshop "Best Practices to Differentiate Your Writing Instruction" being held at the Ramada Plaza-Airport in Newark, NJ on November 23, 2010 for a total cost of $207.38 ($199 registration plus $8.38 travel) for Ms. Crouse and a total registration cost of $199 for Ms. Stewart.
b. Stephen Ward to attend the Pennsylvania Liberal Arts College Tour being held in Hummelstown, PA from November 16-19, 2010 for a total travel cost of $105.40.
c. Michelle Mirante and Elizabeth Morrisseyto attend the workshop "Fitting the Puzzle Pieces Perfectly Together for Struggling Learners" being held at the Somerset Doubletree Hotel in Somerset, NJ on October 22, 2010 for a total registration cost of $187 per person.
d. Jennifer Chiang to attend the AP French Conference being held at Perth Amboy High School in Perth Amboy, NJ on October 23, 2010 for a total cost of $214.56 ($200 registration plus $14.56 travel).
e. Judith Gantly to attend the seminar "Finding the Giftedness in Every Child" being held at the Fire and Police Training Academy in Parsippany, NJ on November 19, 2010 for a total cost of $175.54 ($165 registration plus $10.54 travel).
f. Francoise Coppola to attend the workshop "The Best of the Best Web Sites to Enhance Your Instruction and Strengthen Student Learning (Grades K-6)" being held in Newark, NJ on January 5, 2011 for a total registration cost of $199.
g. Genine D'Andrea to attendthe workshop"Anxiety Disorders in Children & Adolescents: Recognizing & Treating the Emerging Epidemic"being held in Parsippany, NJ on October 22, 2010 for a total registration cost of $179.
h.Joyce Mooney to attend the NJ Association of School Librarians Fall Conference being held at the Ocean Place Resort in Long Branch, NJ on December 3, 2010 for a total registration cost of $75.
i. Geni Sackson to attend the workshop "Outstanding Technology Projects to Enhance Content Learning (Grades 2-6)" being held in Newark, NJ on February 3, 2011 for a total cost of $215.68 ($199 registration plus $16.68 travel).
j. Genine D'Andrea to attend the workshop "Working with Angry Students and Those That Just Don't Care" being held at Wyndham Garden Newark Airport in Newark, NJ on October 21, 2010 for a total registration cost of $199.
k. Rachael Hogan to attend the CFLE 2010 Sex Ed Conference being held at the Imperia Conference Center in Somerset, NJ on November 19, 2010 for a total cost of $171.04 ($150 registration plus $21.04 travel).
l. Stacy Amanna to attend the Lucy Calkins workshop "Units of Study Across the Year in Upper Grade Reading" being held in Newark, NJ on November 17, 2010 for a total registration cost of $219.
m. Lindsey Deptula to attend the Quinnipiac University Counselor Visit being held in Hamden, CT on October 25, 2010 for a total travel cost of $60.49.
n. Michael Dancho to attend the AP Physics "B" Conference being held at Abington Senior High School in Abington, PA on November 13, 2010 for a total cost of $229.84 ($175 registration plus $54.84 travel).
o. Dr. Mary Lynn DePierro to attend the NJ Association of Pupil Services Administrators Conference on Autism-The Legal and the Practical being held at the Ocean Place Conference Center in Long Branch, NJ on November 15, 2010 for a total registration cost of $149.
p. Cindee Bulthaupt to attend the 2010 NJALC Fall Symposium being held at the Bridgewater Marriott in Bridgewater, NJ on October 29, 2010 for a total cost of $165.48 ($145 registration plus $20.48 travel).
q. Francoise Coppola to attend the workshop "Accelerating the Reading Skills of Students with High-Incidence Disabilities (Grades 1-6)" being held in Newark, NJ on November 18, 2010 for a total registration cost of $215.
r. Traci Dombrowski to attend the workshop “Response to Intervention Implementing Powerful and Practical Strategies to Identify and Serve Students with Learning Challenges” being held at the Ramada Plaza-Airport in Newark, NJ on October 18, 2010 for a total registration cost of $199.
B-3 Revise Workshop Registration Fee
Revise the workshop registration fee for Julie Burns to attend the Aspen Annual Fall Conference being held at the Hilton Woodbridge in Iselin, NJ on October 22, 2010 from$105 to $200.
