STATEMENT OF PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE

This is a regular meeting of the Glen Ridge Board of Education. Adequate notice of this meetinghas been provided in that this Board notified the Glen Ridge Paper and the Star Ledger on May 9, 2011. Said notice was published in the Star Ledger on May 12, 2011 and the Glen Ridge Paper on May 19, 2011. The date, time, and location of this meeting were also emailed to all recipients of the annual schedule of the Board's meetings.

Approve Chris Petouvis to provide home instruction services at a rate of $40 per hour for the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year.

P-4 School Business Administrator/Board Secretary's Contract

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Glen Ridge Board of Education approves the employment contract with Peter Caprio, Business Administrator/Board Secretary, effective July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011 for a total salary of $163,036. (Exhibit P-4)

P-5 Reassignment

Approve the reassignment of Chris Petouvis from special education teacher at Ridgewood Avenue School to special education teacher in the new district Transitional Program for the 2011-2012 school year.

CURRICULUM

C-1 Field Trips

Approvefield trips for the students of the Glen Ridge Public Schools as follows:

a. High School chorus (grades 10-12) to attend Grammy Career Day in New York City on May 18, 2011 as per the attached. (Exhibit C-1.a)

b. Ridgewood Avenue sixth grade students to visit the Fountain Springs Country Club in Ringwood, NJ on June 2, 2011 as per the attached. (Exhibit C-1.b)

c. Forest Avenue pre-k students to visit the Town of Glen Ridge on June 3, 2011 as per the attached. (Exhibit C-1.c)

B-1 Financial Reports

Approve the following financial reports as recommended by the Finance Committee:

a. Certification of Fund Balance

Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6:20-2.13(e), we certify that as ofFebruary 28, 2011after review of the Secretary's monthly financial reports and upon consultation with the appropriate district officials, to the best of our knowledge no major account or fund has been over expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6:20-2.13(b) and that sufficient funds were available to meet the district's financialobligations for the fiscal year.

B-2 Workshops/Conferences

Approve the workshops/conferences and travel expenses for the following staff:

a. Deborah Fitzpatrick to attend the Foundation for Child Development Workshop "Strategic Teaching and Evaluation of Progress" being held at the Holiday Inn in East Windsor, NJ on May 24, 2011 for a total travel cost of $36.36.

b. Jody Hackmeyer to attend the 11th Annual New Jersey Writing Alliance Conference being held at Middlesex County College in Edison, NJ on May 24, 2011 for a total cost of $57.16 ($50 registration plus $7.16 travel).

c. Allison Nazimek and Jody Hackmeyer to attend the AP Summer Institute for English Literature and Composition being held at Drew University in Madison, NJ from August 1-5, 2011 for a total cost of $969.71 ($895 registration plus $74.71 travel) for Ms. Nazimek, and a total cost of $856.47 ($845 registration plus $11.47 travel) for Ms. Hackmeyer.

d. Deborah Fitzpatrick to attend Caldwell College Principal's Roundtable "What You Need to Know About the New Anti-Bullying Law" being held at Caldwell College in Caldwell, NJ on May 20, 2011 for a total travel cost of $3.10.

e. Mary Lynn DePierro, Jon Heitmann and Tim Liddyto attend the iPad Workshop for School Leaders being held at the Foundation for Educational Administration Conference Center in Monroe Township on October 18, 2011 for a total registration cost of $825 per person.

f. Deborah Fitzpatrick to attend the Cloud Institute New Jersey Learns Keystone Year being held at Teaneck Creek Conservancy in Teaneck, NJ on May 26, 27, July 25-29, 2011 and January 12, 2012 for a total travel cost of $90.40.

g. Stephen Ward to attend the NJACAC's 2011 Annual Conference being held at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch, NJ on June 6& 7, 2011 for a total registration cost of $195.
