This is a regular meeting of the Glen Ridge Board of Education. Adequate notice of this meetinghas been provided in that this Board notified the Glen Ridge Paper and the Star Ledger on September 16, 2011. Said notice was published in the Star Ledger on September 21, 2011 and the Glen Ridge Paper onSeptember 22, 2011. The date, time, and location of this meeting were also emailed to all recipients of the annual schedule of the Board's meetings.

P-1 Retirement Resignation
Accept, with regret, the retirement resignation ofPaul Perna, industrial arts teacher at Glen Ridge High School,effectiveJune 30, 2012.
P-2 Leave of Absence
Approve a medical leave of absence to Emilia Campbell, special education teacher at Ridgewood Avenue School, effective January 30, 2012. Her anticipated return is on or about May 1, 2012.
P-3 Appointments
a. Approve the appointment of Daniel DeMaglie as a part-time special education aide (replacing J. Catania) at Glen Ridge High School, on aide step 1 ($17.60 per hour) effective January 17, 2012 through June 30, 2012.
b. Approve the appointment of Jarrad Nardiello as a leave replacement special education teacher (replacing E. Campbell) at Ridgewood Avenue School, on BA step 1 ($50,379 pro-rated) effective January 30, 2012 until Ms. Campbell's return.
c. Approve the appointment of Susan Anchetta as a part-time special education aide at Ridgewood Avenue School, on aide step 1 ($17.60 per hour) effective January 25, 2012 through June 30, 2012.
P-4 Substitutes
a. Approve the addition ofPramila Charpentier and Gerald Ferraroto the substitute list for the 2011-2012 school year.
b. Approve Katrina Rogers as a substitute aide in the Childcare Program for the 2011-2012 school year.
P-5 Coach/Co-Curricular
a. Approve Jason DeVirgilioas the head baseball coach on guide 2step4 year7 ($8,102) for the 2012 spring season.
b. Approve Susan Anchetta as the Ridgewood Avenue School musical director on guide 5 step 1 year 1 ($3,325) for the 2012 spring season.
c. Approve John Poff as the Ridgewood Avenue School assistant musical director on guide 6 step 1 year 1 ($2,335) for the 2012 spring season.
P-6 Salary Adjustment
Approve the salary adjustment for non-union confidential staff, technology staff, and childcare program coordinator for the 2011-2012 school year. (Exhibit P-6)

a. Cristina Jerolimic to attend the workshop "Practical Strategies and Interactive Activities for Increasing Your Students' Achievement and Motivation (Grades 6-12)" being held at the Holiday Inn in Parsippany, NJ on January 20, 2012 for a total registration cost of $125.
b. Tim Liddy to attend the 52nd Annual Director of Athletics Association of New Jersey Workshop being held at the Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ from March 12-15, 2012 for a total cost of $425.02 ($350 registration plus $75.02 travel).
c. Maria Dessipris to attend the FLENJ (Foreign Language Educators of NJ) Annual Spring Conference "A Day in Oaxaca" being held at the Somerset Double Tree Hotel in Somerset, NJ on March 30, 2012 for a total cost of $132.98 ($115 registration plus $17.98 travel).
d. Christine Sullo to attend the NY/NJ Google Apps Summitbeing held at Kean University in Union, NJ on March 22 & 23, 2012 for a total registration cost of $200.
e. Jon Heitmann to attend the Advanced iPad Training being held at the FEA Conference Center in Monroe Township, NJon February 22, 2012 for a total registration cost of $147.
f. John Mucciolo to attend the workshop "Learning about the Four Teacher Evaluation Systems" being held at the FEA Conference Center in Monroe Township, NJ on January 31, 2012 for a total registration cost of $75.
g. Jon Heitmann to attend the Legal One Bullying Summit being held in the FEA Conference Center in Monroe Township, NJ on April 16, 2012 for a total registration cost of $75.
h. Carl Houser to attend the 17th Annual Northeast Football Coaches Clinic being held at the Park Ridge Marriott in Park Ridge, NJ from February 9-11, 2012 for a total registration cost of $75.
i. Carl Houser and Greg Lane to attend the NJ Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association 2012 Lacrosse Coaches Clinic being held at Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ on January 28, 2012 for a total registration cost of $50 for Mr. Houser and a total registration of $20 for Mr. Lane.
j. Dirk Phillips to attend the 504 workshop being held at Barnabas Health Institute for Prevention in Toms River, NJ on February 24, 2012 for a total registration cost of $75.
k. Stacy Amanna to attend the workshop "Practical Strategies to Implement the New Common Core Mathematics Standards (Grades 3-5)" being held in Fairfield, NJ on March 20, 2012 for a total registration cost of $219.
l. Matthew Cannici to attend the National Writing Project at Rutgers Annual Midwinter Writing Conference being held at Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ on February 4, 2012 for a total registration cost of $60.
m. Jenelle Hamer and Genine D'Andrea to attend the NJAPSA Winter Conference "In Class Consultation: Development and Implementation of the Model" being held at the Ocean Place Conference Center in Long Branch, NJ on February 3, 2012 for a total cost of $224.85 ($195 registration plus $29.85 travel) for Ms. Hamer and a total cost of $198.88 ($195 registration plus $3.88 travel) for Ms. D'Andrea.
n. Nancy Palmisano to attend the workshop "Preschool/Kindergarten Strategies for Fine & Gross Motor Skill Development" being held at the Southard School in Howell Township, NJ on March 13, 2012 for a total cost of $164 ($125 registration plus $39 travel).

Accept, with thanks, the following generous donations:
a.A Steinway upright piano model 1098 (estimated value at $4,000) from the Glen Ridge Music Parents Association to be usedin the Ridgewood Avenue Schoolmusic room and programs.(Exhibit B-3.a)
b. Cash donation of $127 from Mrs. Dilkes 5th grade class to replace 4 damaged stability balls. (Exhibit B-3.b)
c. A Yamaha baby grand piano (1959) with blonde mahogany finish (estimated value at $4,500) from the Glen Ridge Music Parents Association to be used in the high school music and chorus programs. (Exhibit B-3.c)
d. A document camera (valued at $337) from the parents of students from Mrs. Goldstein's class to be used by Mrs. Goldstein's 2nd grade class at Forest Avenue School.(Exhibit B-3.d)
e. Eight (8) copies of Fast Math (valued at $2,400) from the Forest Avenue Home & School Association to be used for math education at Forest Avenue School. (Exhibit B-3.e)
B-4 Out-of-District Placement
Approve the out-of-district placement for student #14003 to attend Essex County Vo-Tech for a tuition cost of $1,477.75 effective January 30, 2012.

Approve the following budget appropriation for the month of December 2011 for the cost of donated equipment during the 2011-2012 school year in the amount of $80,573.66.
