Anthem “I Will Arise and Go To Jesus”

I will arise and go to Jesus, he will embrace me with his arms.

In the arms of my dear savior, Oh! There are ten thousand charms.

Come, thou fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace.

Streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise.

Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above;

Praise the mount I’m fixed upon it, mount of thy redeeming love.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

I would like to thank Dr. Collier and Dr. Norman for their visits during my recent illness. The cards, food and many prayers have meant so much. You have my heart felt appreciation. Love, Shirley Harris

Important Notice – A Special Called Business Meeting will be held TODAY at 11:30 a.m. after the service. We will be voting on recommendations from the Personnel and Nominating Committees.

“The Picnic at the Rivah” was held on August 16. Great company, great food and beautiful weather were the order of the day. Many thanks to Debbie and Bobby Abernathy who opened up their home on the Rappahannock River for the day. Also, thanks to Jeff, Rhonda and Kevin Abernathy for their help with the chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers. Cheryl Ender and her crew had some great side dishes as well. Along with the magnificent view of the river and the huge sandy beach for the children, these elements are hard to beat for summer time fun. Look for this event on next year’s church calendar and plan to attend. Matt Davidson, Chairman of Deacons.

There is NO choir rehearsal on Wednesday, August 27.

Pre-K is now enrolling students for the 2014-2015 school year. Half day programs for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. Please call or email for more information: 804-672-7080 or
