GJCA Information for 2016/17

Below is a summary of the major rule changesand format information for season 2016/17.

Team Declarations (Under 13/15/17)

Full team declarations must be done in MyCricket ‘at the latest’ when interim results are lodged after the first day of play and no alterations to team lists shall be accepted after this time.

(eg. A player may only play the 2nd week of a match if they are on the team list entered with the interim results).

Fixture (Under 13/15/17)

The season will again be 11 games in the Under 13, 15 & 17 age groups with three one-day grading games at the start of the season. Divisions will be 12 teams where possible to provide a more balanced fixture.

Fixture (Under 13 Friday Night)

The Under 13 Friday competition will consist of 10 games plus a grand final for the top two teams in each Division. The divisions will not be graded but based on geographically location where possible to avoid excess travel.

Fixture (Under 11 Friday Night)

The season there will be 13 one-day games in the Under 11 Friday competition. Divisions will be geographically based with no finals or premiership points.

Under 11 Format

Under 11’s continue to play a modified format with a strong focus on participation.

Rules are available in the scorebook.

Under 13Format

One-day games will continue to be played as 26 overs per side and two-day games as 52 overs per side with a split of 26 overs per team each day.

Overs are to be bowled in blocks of 4 from each end.

No LBW rule.

Any delivery that passes above shoulder of the batsmen in his normal stance shall be deemed a no-ball.

6 deliveries constitutes an over (wides & no-balls are not re-bowled).

All listed players must bat during the course of any two-day match.

Batting restrictions

One-day games (26/26): Retire at the end of the over upon reaching 20 runs

Two-day games (52/52): Retire at the end of the over upon reaching 30 runs

No batsmen can be retired until they have spent a minimum of 4overs at the crease in two-day games and 2overs in one-day games.

Retired batsmen must return to the crease in order of lowest score.

Bowling restrictions

One-day games (26/26): 3 over max, all team members must bowl a minimum of 1 over each

Two-day games (52/52): 6 over max, all team members must bowl a minimum of 2 overs each

Minimum of 1 over and maximum of 4 overs per player per day in two-day games.

Under 15 Format

One-day games will be played as 25 overs per side and two-day games as 55 overs per side.

Overs are to be bowled in blocks of 5 from each end.

Any delivery that passes above shoulder of the batsmen in his normal stance shall be deemed a no-ball.

One-day games (25/25): Retire at the end of the over upon reaching 30 runs

Two-day games (55/55): Retire at the end of the over upon reaching 50 runs

No batsmen can be retired until they have spent a minimum of 5 overs at the crease in two-day games and 3 overs in one-day games.

Retired batsmen must return to the crease in order of lowest score.

Bowling restrictions

One-day games (25/25): 5 over max, minimum of 6 bowlers & minimum of 3 overs each

Maximum spell of 3oversno bowler may bowl more than 3overs until the minimum overs have been bowled by the minimum number of bowlers.

Two-day games (55/55): 10 over max, minimum of 8 bowlers & minimum of 3overs each

Maximum spell of 5 oversno bowler may bowl more than 5 overs until the minimum overs have been bowled by the minimum number of bowlers.

Under 17 Format

One-day games will be played as 25 overs per side and two-day games as 55 overs per side.

Overs are to be bowled in blocks of 5 from each end.

One deliveryper over that passes above shoulder of the batsmen in his normal stance is allowed with any subsequent deliveries deemed a no-ball.

Batting restrictions

One-day games (25/25): Retire at the end of the over upon reaching 50 runs

Two-day games (55/55): Retire at the end of the over upon reaching 100 runs

No batsmen can be retired until they have spent a minimum of 5 overs at the crease in two-day games and 3 overs in one-day games.

Retired batsmen must return to the crease in order of lowest score.

Bowling restrictions

One-day games (25/25): 6 over max, minimum of 5 bowlers & minimum of 3 overs each

Maximum spell of 3oversno bowler may bowl more than 3overs until the minimum overs have been bowled by the minimum number of bowlers.

Two-day games (55/55): 12 over max, minimum of 7 bowlers & minimum of 3 overs each

Maximum spell of 6 oversno bowler may bowl more than 6 overs until the minimum overs have been bowled by the minimum number of bowlers.
