Week of November 19th

GIMEL -KitahGimel practiced singing Tefillot for Kabalat Shabbat.

DALET – MorahLiat was out sick. The school was asked to do a mitzvah and create Chanukah cards for Jewish soldiers in the US Army. Our KitahDalet students did a great job making these cards and fulfilling this mitzvah!

HEY -Kitah Hey reviewed the vocabulary words assignment.

VAV –Students in the first hour worked individually in Mitkadem. The more they practice, the more easily they decode words. They are beginning to recognizeshoreshim/roots and meanings of words, as well as prefixes and suffixes. The entire class practiced the tefillot for theFridaynight service they will lead onDecember 1. Looking forward to sharing Shabbat with all the Vav families.

ZAYIN - Students reviewed their flashcards as well as root words.KitahZayin is beginning to work on learning the words in the Brachot we recite over different foods as well as words we use on Shabbat and various holidays.

Week of November 12th

In addition to the individual learning, the following was done during group time:

Gimel-we reviewedroots vs. words, prefixes & suffixes.

Dalet -we reviewedroots vs. words, prefixes & suffixes.

Hey-we reviewedroots vs. words, prefixes & suffixes.

Vavthis weekwe are used our group time to review theFridaynight service.

Zayin- During Hebrew, students were introduced to various Brachot on food and Brachot said on Shabbat and different holidays. Students also reviewed their flash cards of vocabulary words and are making great progress determining the root of the word in order to determine its meaning.

Week of November 5th

In addition to the individual learning, the following was done during group time:

GIMEL We played Hangman with simpler (shorter words)vocabulary from the dictionary in Ramah (Level) 3 to review the words in this unit.

DALETWe reviewed vocabulary we learned in the packet.

HEYWe played Hangman with simpler (shorter words)vocabulary from the dictionary in Ramah (Level) 3 to review the words in this unit.

VAVWe reviewed theשרש-ברכ. We talked about brachot and the 6 word formula every bracha has. We talked about how to find the purpose of a bracha and that the bracha can mean a gift from God, a thank you to God or a request for a gift from God. In the second class, students noticed a flock of birds fly from one tree to another and together we said the bracha for beautiful creatures. We also talked about saying 100 brachot every day. This week students are going to see how many brachot they say during the week.The class also reviewed the sofiot (final) together.

ZAYINStudents continue making excellent progress in the Mitkadem program in Hebrew. KitahZayin split into pairs to review root words, vocabulary and study their flashcards to be ready for the next level.
