Ghost Ranch Packing List
CLOTHING:
There could be snow; it could be 70 degrees. Be ready for it all. Bring clothes that you can wear in layers. The mornings are cool and the afternoons could be quite warm. Nights are also cool. A baseball cap AND a stocking cap are a good idea. Raincoats are rarely needed at Ghost Ranch. Bring one sturdy pair of WORK BOOTS OR HIKING BOOTS (preferably waterproof, you never know) and a pair of tennis shoes. If you don’t have boots, don’t worry, but it wouldn’t hurt to have an extra pair of shoes if one gets wet. There are washing machines at the G.R. So think about traveling as lightly as you can.You will need to bring some WORK GLOVES. You will need them for most of our work days. Bring a hat or cap-- VERY IMPORTANT, YOU WILL BE AT ABOUT 5000--6000 FEET IN ALTITUDE, THE SUN WILL BE BRIGHT.Medium weight jacket and/or a hooded sweatshirt. Just bring enough to keep yourself warm. You can always take some clothes off, but you can’t put more on if you don’t have them. LOTS OF SOCKS.
PERSONAL HYGIENE NEEDS:
Bring soap, shampoo, etc., whatever you need. There is a store at the ranch that is open a couple hours a day where you can buy these kinds of thingsbut it will probably be a tad more expensive and we may not always be around during business hours. Ghost Ranch furnishes towels and wash cloths and “hotel soap”; they are adequate, but you may want to bring an extra towel. Up to you; you can get by nicely with what is provided.
BEDDING:
Ghost Ranch provides bedding including sheets, blankets and pillows. The rooms do have heaters. If you want to sleep outside bring a sleeping bag; but remember how much room it takes up in the van.

ART OR MUSIC NEEDS (DRAWING PAPER, PAINTS, GUITAR)

Ghost Ranch music policy------IN your room, you can listen with headphones only. Ghost Ranch wants no music “leaking out” into the environment of the ranch, as it is a place for contemplation and reflection. You can play your instrument and sing as often and as loud as you want!
