I am a senior software engineer who specializes in both software development and adult education. I have extensive experience in analyzing, developing, and modifying application programs utilizing core and non-core technologies in support of enterprise systems. I have broad knowledge in all phases of the software development life cycle in creation of both in-house and commercial software development. I have developed long-range plans for software/hardware purchases, ranging from hardware, third party software kits, and sundry peripherals. I understand and can apply new technical concepts for effective educational approaches. I can conduct needs assessments and strategic learning assessments to develop the basis for curriculum development or to update curricula. I can collect end-user instructional goals and needs, and translate them into digital services for in-class and online use. I can program around a learning management systems for custom learning needs. I have experience teaching entry-level computer classes in post-secondary schools.

·  Wrote C# and ASP.NET pages to automate the handling of financial information. (ASP.NET pages with C# code-behind to call SQL stored procedures)

·  Wrote ASP, AJAX and Microsoft SQL stored procedure code to automate the handling of financial information. Automated the retrieval of information from separate (and sometimes remote) sources into concise forms, such as HTML and Excel reports.

·  Added new functionality to new commodity trading software. This entailed using Java Swing for a table based report generation and presentation, JDBC for data loading and incorporating third party software for saving the report in PDF format. All this was done under a very tight development schedule.

·  Created customer specific security packages for small, local business with an IT presence.

NetIQ/PentaSafe, Houston, TX 2000 – 2003

Senior Software Engineer

Software development and support for agents to ensure security across different platforms

·  Co-development in product design, development and testing for PentaSafe’s new Solaris product, VSA for Tuxedo. Followed key guidelines of Extreme Programming. Coded in Java & Java Swing for the front end and C/C++ for the backend. Designed the specifications in UML and drafted test plans for QA. This new product validated PentaSafe’s goal of providing a product suite across the enterprise.

·  Worked with PentaSafe’s Usability Engineering department to re-engineer GUI for VSA for Web Servers. Added new functionality with JSPs and JavaBeans. Reorganized user’s workflow. Organized meetings and User Experience trials. As a result, the product won 5 stars in “SC Magazine” for GUI.

·  Redesigned and rebuilt the VSA for TUXEDO’s LogViewer in Java Swing. Features included encryption, dynamic file loading, multiple file handling and non-repudiation. This allowed the customer to view the logs in an easy-to-use GUI and produce the information they need quickly.

·  Re-factored installation and packaging process for VSA for Web Servers using InstallAnywhere software and Java language, reducing the complexity of the install process. Incorporated J2EE build technique of packaging code into .war files.
