Respondus –Download and Install
Respondus™ is a powerful tool for creating and managing assessments (tests and quizzes) that can be printed to paper or published directly to Blackboard and other eLearning systems. Assessments are created offline in a familiar Windows environment and the software provides many time-saving tools, such as the ability to import existing exams from word processor files. Respondus is used at over 2,000 institutions worldwide.
Download, Install, and Setup Respondus™ 4.0
- Go to
- Click on the link “Download and Install Respondus 4.0”
- A popup Authentication window opens. Type in your Wilmington University login/email credentials:
username= firstname.mi.lastname password = your email password
Download and Install Respondus
- Download and install the file to your computer. You may click on the hyperlink “Download the installer” or (right-click the link and choose Save As… if you have trouble).
- Save the Respondus4Campus.exe file to your computer.
- Double-click the installer ".exe" file you downloaded to your computer.Find the executable file location and double click to launch the installer. When prompted click Yes. Follow the on-screen instructions.
When prompted, enter/copy and paste the following installation information:

The licensing information listed above must be entered each time the Respondus software is installed.

Important Notes
You CANNOT download the software directly from the Respondus website;instructors must use our download package from our Wilmington University’s web site. You may not use the password listed above to activate a copy previously downloaded from their site.
You CAN install a copy of the Respondus software on a home computer.
You MAY NOT provide the Respondus software or the password information to anyone who is not affiliated with our institution. Such an action is a violation of our licensing agreement with Respondus and is also illegal.
Context-sensitive help is available throughout the Respondus program by pressing the F1 key. It is also available by selecting “Help” from the pull-down menu on the toolbar. A copy of the Respondus User Guide (in Word/WordPad format) can be downloaded from Respondus, Inc.
