Get the Right Things Done in 2017: Module 1, Part 2

Your Sweet Spot - PETER’S RESPONSES

1.  Complete this worksheet.

2.  Once you’ve identified your sweet spot, view each of your five areas of focus through that lens to ensure that you are spending your time doing the things that leverage the best of who you are.

3.  Share a few words about your sweet spot in the Module 1 comments section.

1. Think of some times when you loved what you were doing.
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (alive, physically active, in a team, singing and dancing, emotional, learning, outside my comfort zone, playful, fun)

NOLS INSTRUCTOR (physically active, whole person, close relationships, learning, teaching, healthy, nature, community, leading, out there, fun)

CORE ENERGETICS TRAINING PROGRAM (alive, whole person, emotion/intellect, close community, risky, challenging, learning, testing, navigating relationships, expressing, fun, intense)

EARLY HAY GROUP CONSULTING (rapid learning, out of comfort zone for a purpose of growth, creativity, risk, fun, great colleagues, felt important, novel, big upside, intense)

Yes but something missing:

PHOTOGRAPHY (alive, engaged, whole person, quiet, creative, learning, expressing, deep)

WRITING (risky, learning, fun, creative, always changing, immersive, whole person, performance, getting out there, deep)

What’s missing from both - other people, body, need to sit still

What did I bring to the party?

Engaged, fun, energized, pushing the envelope, charm, leadership, confidence, courage, vulnerability, communication

2. Think of some times when you felt bad (slogging uphill, frustrated, poor feedback)

LAST YEARS AT HAY GROUP/OUTWARD BOUND/ANDERSEN (bored, doing same stuff over again, limited creativity, limited risk, restricted innovation, following directions, no leadership, didn’t feel special, wasting time on things I felt didn’t matter, more intellectual/less whole person)

Feedback received - talk too much, too much risk taking (not safe, not efficient, not how we do things), grow up and be more serious, not detail oriented enough

3. What does your life look like when you are in your sweet spot?
Agreat groupof colleagues whom I love and respect and from whom I canlearn and growand also contribute. We’re inventing things, taking risks, trying stuffwe’re not sure will work. Incorporate thewhole self- intellectual, physical, emotional, spiritual. Learning and making animpact.Generous with each other.
