This prize was established to recognise the significant contribution to the community made by the late Gerard Connolly, a graduate of the Faculty of Law at QUT.
Gerard studied his LLB at QUT between 1985 and 1988 and completed the Legal Practice Course in 1989. Following his admission as a solicitor, Gerard worked in private practice and then for the Commonwealth Government until his death from cancer, aged 30.
DETAILS
The prize is valued at $550 and is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate law or justice students of the QUT Law Faculty. The prize is awarded annually to the student whom the trustees of the prize believe has contributed most to the community through volunteer and/or charitable work (not necessarily of a legal nature).
CRITERIA
You are eligible to apply if you:
· are an undergraduate or postgraduate law or justice studies student enrolled during the previous academic year; and
· have contributed to the community through volunteer and/or charitable work (eg: through Community Legal Centres, or organisations such as Qld Cancer Fund, Royal Blind Society etc).
HOW DO I APPLY?
§ Nominations may be made by peers or lecturers. Individuals may nominate themselves.
