Georgia Rivers Project

Second graders are learning about the major rivers in Georgia. To culminate the end of this study, students are to make a model of Georgia and draw and label each river. Please follow the directions below to complete this project.

Give the map a title. Use the map in the Social Studies book, or the internet to draw the rivers of Georgia. Label each river on the map. Use a blue crayon or marker to highlight each river. Include a labeled compass rose for your map. Use construction paper to create a mat for your map.

For the writing portion of the task, students need to identify each river and identify two facts about each river. The writing portion should be in paragraph form. Have fun with this project!
