Geography of the GCC countries in CNN 5

Extending our Understanding

We have been learning quite a lot about the geography of the Arabian Peninsula generally, and Kuwait specifically. To extend our understanding, we will be investigating social issues relevant to Kuwait (which helps us better understand how the 5 themes of geography affect the region). This assignment will act as a test grade for this chapter. So please take it seriously. The details of the assignment are below.

Task:

You are required to produce a news video similar to CNN 10 for a social issue that is taking place in Kuwait. You will need to show a minimum of 4 scenes: a) the news anchor explaining the problem affecting Kuwait, (b) footage showing the problem in Kuwait, (c) news anchor talking about some solutions to the problem that was shown previously, and (d) footage showing someone/group working towards the solution. You have the option of either working by yourself, with a partner, or in a group of 3 to complete this assignment. The video must be a minimum of:

  • 2 minutes 30 seconds (if you are working by yourself)
  • 3:30 (if you are working with a partner)
  • 5:00 (if you are working in a group of 3)

Please note that the above time is for the news segment itself, and does not include introduction, bloopers, side issues, etc.
