Geotechnical Engineer

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking Geotechnical Engineers with a range of experience to join our team.This position is ideal for individuals who are extremely motivated, innovative and who have a passion for solving complex problems on challenging projects. Candidates should have experiencein construction observation and testing, site investigation, data interpretation, analysis and design.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER
Some of the daily responsibilities for an Engineer may include:
  • Work on a variety of routine and complex projects utilizing yourexperience and knowledge of scientific and engineering principles
  • Provide geotechnical analysis on slope stability, settlement, pavement section design, shallow & deep foundations, seepage, karst geology and more
  • Develop comprehensive recommendations to mitigate site problems
  • Prepare geotechnical reports, technical specifications and other documents
  • Successfully manage multiple projectsto achieve goals for technical excellence, budget control, schedule compliance, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability
  • You will work closely with experienced professionals who will mentor and train you as you integrate into GTA’s culture and jump start your career!

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree in civil or environmental engineering. MS degree with geotechnical concentrationa plus
  • Directly relevant U.S. experience in a consulting environment
  • Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software (e.g., slope stability)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities
  • Professional registration or the ability to become licensed within one year of hire (required for senior positions)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a salaried position.Travel mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate (currently $0.56 per mile) for travel from office to job site and back to office.
