Genevieve Andrews Pershke Scholarship ($1000)
This scholarship honors Genevieve Andrews Pershke, who was born in 1923. She attended college and was one of the first people in North Dakota to obtain a teacher’s license. This scholarship reflects her lifelong interest in learning.
Criteria:
- Students must be enrolled as undergraduates in the College of Liberal Arts with the intent to study Elementary Education
- Preference will be given to students with a cumulative 3.0 GPA and at least one classroom experience
- Financial need will be considered in the decision process
A complete application packet includes:
- College of Liberal Arts Scholarship Application.
- A two (2) page essay describing: an issue you see impacting elementary education today OR your plans for professional development once you have your own classroom.
- A one (1) page detailed list of your classroom experience(s), if any. Not required if you don’t have any classroom experience.
- A completed financial worksheet.
- ***Two (2) letters of reference and completed reference forms (included)from OSU faculty and/or classroom teachers who can attest to your outstanding academic performance. NOTE: No letters/references from family members, please.
