General Description and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a Student Ambassador Include:

  1. Host prospective students overnight in their residence hall rooms and take them to breakfast the next morning.
  2. Host campus tours to prospective families, alumni or community members
  3. Have lunch with prospective families.
  4. Assist with special event days
  5. Help with various duties within the department when needed

Student Ambassadors will be paired with prospective families who have similar interests and be given the duty that they will be asked to complete, as well as what time they are expected. Training in the fall and spring semesters is required.

Who Can Apply

Any Geneva student with the following characteristics may apply:

  1. Shows interest in and commitment to serve prospective students and their families.
  1. Displays willingness to exercise gifts of creativity, hospitality, and service.
  1. Possesses general understanding of Geneva’s campus environment.
  1. Demonstrates confidence and maturity in interpersonal relationships.
  1. Strives to manifest Christian commitment in thought, word, and deed.
  1. Strong communication skills and the ability to think on your feet.
  1. Must have had at least one semester of classes on Geneva’s campus.

Application/Selection Process

Student employee applications must be returned to the Admissions Office (1st Floor Alexander Hall). Completed applications will include two completed Recommendation Forms (attached) from the persons whose names appear on the Student Employee Application. Recommendation forms do not have to accompany the application. Applicants are responsible for contacting their references and ensuring that the Recommendation Forms arrive in the Admissions Office. A fall class schedule should be turned into the Admissions office as soon as it is finalized.

Students will be selected from the application pool to interview with the Admissions staff. A staff member will contact the applicant to set-up the interview.
