Replacement in case of absence: / Programmes Officer or another Programmes Coordinator, as directed by Senior Programmes Officer

1. Purpose of the Position:
Reporting to, guided and directed by the Senior Programmes Officer, the Programmes Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Programmes Departmentand Delegates/Outreach coordinators in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Nashatatiprogramme in Jordan. This is to maximize positive change and sustainable impact in the target communities by liaising closely with the Jordan Programmes M&E Officer and coordinator on monitoring & evaluation, as well as the Communications team on external communications. The Programmes Coordinator will receive mentoring and support from the Senior Programme Officer and will be expected to buildon his/her knowledge, skills and experience to take on increasing responsibilities and work on assigned tasks with steadily reducing supervision.
2. Responsibilities:
Reporting to, guided and directed by theSenior ProgrammesOfficer:
  • Working closely with all members of the Programmes Department on the Nashatatiprogramme, providingsupport as directed by the Programmes Officer following the Annual Plan, scheduled Programme Cycles, and Programming Framework
  • Supporting the implementation of the Nashatatiprogramme, including assisting with day-to-day communications and logistical support
  • Supporting the Senior Programmes Officer with establishment and development of strong relationships with local partner organisations
  • Conducting regular field visits to confirm site selection decisions, to support Field Coordinators Delegates/Outreach coordinators and to engage with Local Partner Organisations, as directed by Senior Programmes Officer
  • Supporting the guidance and mentoring of the lead field coordinators anddelegates/outreach coordinatorson programme design, implementation, activity session design, monitoring and evaluation of the Nashatatiprogramme whilekeeping Senior Programmes Officer updated on progress and any issues
  • Ensuring the continuous update of programmes database/extranet for all assigned countries
  • Helping to prepare and provide inputs for monthly and quarterly reports to Donors and Partners, as well asupdating theSenior Programmes Officer
  • Supporting the provision of information content about Field coordinators,Delegates, Outreach coordinators, and Programmes to the Communications Department, ensuring regular flow of high quality information to feed Communications needs and Donor/Partner reporting,as approved by the Senior Programmes Officer
  • Supporting the liaison with the Jordan Programmes M&E Officer and Coordinator on all monitoring & evaluation, to learn and assessprogramme inputs, outputs, outcomes, impact, and sustainability; and to identify best practices and good PR communications stories, as approved by the Senior Programmes Officer
  • Supporting Institute and communications teams in planning and conducting visits to programmes in Jordan
  • Providing input to the Senior Programmes Officer to help improve GFP curriculum and programme processes
  • Supporting Programmes Department’s role in delivery of direct training events (Camps, Advanced Trainings, Refresher Workshops, etc).
  • Providing administrative support to rest of Programmes Department.

5. Education, Qualifications, Competences, Skills Required:
Essential:
  • Jordanian Nationality
  • University Bachelor Degree essential, preferably in a relevant discipline.
  • High professional level of spoken English and Arabic
  • At least one year’s professional experience.
  • Experience in project and programme management, preferably in community social change programmes
  • Experience in volunteer programmes and volunteer recruitment, motivation, mentoring and management.
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural team
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and work under pressure
  • Ability to reflect, learn, and improve, and experience in using feedback processes for learning
  • Excellent computer skills (documents/spreadsheets/databases/presentations/calendars/email).
  • Excellent written English and Arabic, including writing of programme plans and reports.
  • Interest in global current affairs, conflict and peace building, and international development.
Preferred:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of different theories of conflict transformation and social change
  • Experience in international development especially community development and behaviour change programming is useful but not essential
  • Experience in different forms of evaluation, including participatory evaluation, participatory video, most significant change, is useful but not essential
  • Experience in sport-based approaches to behaviour change is useful but not essential
  • Experience in arts-based approaches to behaviour change is useful but not essential
  • Experience in dialogue approaches for conflict transformation is useful but not essential
  • Experience in advocacy for community-led change is useful but not essential
  • Experience in event management is useful but not essential
  • Travel and experience working in other countries
