GENERAL SPECIFICATION REGARDING THE WORK OF CONSTRUCTION OF STORE CUM OFFICE BUILDING AND TRANSIT HOUSE BUILDING AT AGARTALA UNDER NETC CONSULTANCY
1.0GENERAL
1.1POWERGRID intends to carry out construction of Store cum Office Building and Transit house building and other allied works at Agartala under NETC Consultancy.
1.2The technical specifications of the construction of Store cum Office Building and Transit house building and other allied worksviz site leveling, boundary wall with security room and gate, roads and drains, soak pit and septic tank etcunder the scope of this contract shall be read in conjunction with other documents forming the contract viz General Conditions of Contract, Notice Inviting Tender, Special Conditions of Contract, Field Quality Plan, Bill of Quantities, Drawing etc. In case any item is not mentioned in the technical specification, the same shall be executed following CPWD specification & relevant IS Codes.The items which are not applicable for the scope of this package as per schedule of quantity described in BOQ, technical specification/ field quality plan of such items shall not be referred to.
1.3Bidders are advised to visit site and read bidding documents carefully before quoting their rates.

2.0SCOPE OF WORK
2.1The present scope of work broadly consists of Site leveling with cutting and filling, borrowing of earth for additional filling and compaction as per Technical Specification and BOQ, Construction of Boundary Wall with security room and gate, construction of roads and drains, Septic tanks and soak pit, Construction of Store cum office building and Transit House including finishing etc complete in line with Technical Specification, BOQ and drawing. Original contour of the land is enclosed with the bid documents.
3.0GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS/GUIDELINES –
i)Bidder should visit the work site to assess site conditions, nature of work, local availability of quality materials, skilled manpower and other necessary requirements to perform the intended work in line with technical specification, field quality plan and to the satisfaction of Engineer in-charge.
ii)Bidder shall quote their price for BOQ items as per the format enclosed with the bid documents. Any other item of work not specifically mentioned in the above scope/BOQ but may be required for successful completion of the work as per technical specification/drawing is deemed to be included in the scope and shall be executed without any financial involvement to POWERGRID.
iii)Bidder shall quote the price for BOQ items including test charges considering necessary tests/checks to be carried out on work executed/material procured as per Technical specification, Filed Quality Plan, relevant IS codes and are found necessary by Engineer In-charge to ensure quality of the work/material.
iv)Bidder shall insure all the workers, supervisor, engineer or any other staff directly involved in the work and the copy of insurance policy shall be submitted to Engineer In-charge. Other insurance policies that are required as per contract shall be taken as provided in the relevant clauses.
v)During execution of the work, all safety precautions should be taken as per Standard and GCC and instructions of Engineer In-charge.
vi)The work shall be carried out as per Technical Specification, Field Quality Plan and relevant IS codes and to the satisfaction of Engineer In-charge.
vii)All materials/product shall conform to requirement of BOQ/Technical Specification and latest IS code. Manufacturer’s test certificate shall be submitted to Engineer In-charge for the materials procured before putting them in the use at work site.
viii)Defect liability period shall be 12 (twelve) months from data of taking over as mentioned in TOC.
ix)Completion period may be taken as 15 months from NOA/LOA.
x)Overall Quantity deviation may be taken as 15% for the subject work.
