General Mills / Unyson Less Than Truckload Returns Process

General Mills customer return requests can come from different points. It is critical to secure

a RETURN AUTHORIZATION number and a ZRE return shipment number for any product coming back into General Mills inventoryat the distribution centers. Below steps outline communication process to follow when return requestscome in from different sources for LTL quantity product returns via Unyson Logistics (UYSN).

GMI customer:

*Retail and Food service customers will contact the General Mills customer service center(CSC) for returns.

*The General Mills CSC customer representative will give the customer a RETURN AUTHORIZATION(RA) number and ZRE return shipment number. CSC either informs the customer to contact the Unyson Hotline at (888.339.0310) to facilitate the pick up of return product back the nearest General Mills distribution location or drop at a food shelf or, CSC representative can contact Unyson call center for the customer.

*Customer or CSC representative communicates the General Mills RA number and ZRE return to Unyson call center.

*CSC representative communicates the return items and amount to the CSF for inventory adjustments.

*Unyson arranges the pick-up at the customer location for return to the General Mills csf or a drop at the nearest food shelf.

Carrier partner:

*Truckload carrier partners with OS & D product returns from customers should contact the origin General Mills CSF/distribution center.

*The General Mills CSF personnel will give the truckload carrier partner the RETURN AUTHORIZATION (RA) number and the ZRE return shipment number and advise them to call the Unyson Hotline.

*The truckload carrier partner contacts Unyson; (888.339.0310) and communicates the RA # and ZRE return shipment number.

*Unyson personnel logs the RA/return shipment and advises the truckload carrier of the nearest LTL Unyson “program” carrier terminal for drop off of return product.

*Truckload carrier drops return product at the indicated Unyson LTL “program” carrier terminal and the LTL carrier creates LTL bol for return of product from their terminal to General Mills CSF/distribution center or drop at a food shelf.
