Dining:

The dining options at the Carriage Club range from candlelit formal to comfy casual pleasing just about everyone’s desire. With four restaurants and banquet space available the members throughout the year are offered the ability to attend or host uniquely crafted events surrounding holidays and special celebrations. From a Calypso Pool Party to the Children’s Halloween Party the catering staff is always there to also help members plan a business meeting, brunch, luncheon, dinner or reception.

The Carriage Club provides excellent cuisine to ensure highly satisfying dining experiences for the members. The new state-of-the-art kitchen enables the staff to cater to every special request. Members can get an up-close experience by reserving the “Chef’s Table” which is located with amazing views of the open kitchen and meticulously maintained grounds.

The Coach House is the place to be year-round. It includes: The Snack Bar, the dining area of choice for the children; The Sky Box that was designed to accommodate family dining and overlooks the action on the ice skating rink; and the Zamboni Bar and Lounge for adult members. The Zamboni Bar has a reputation around town of being a great place to socialize and entertain friends.

Tennis/Platform Tennis:

The Club has an active, year-round tennis and platform tennis program for players of all ages and ability levels. The program offers many ways to utilize the tennis courts be it recreational or competitive, singles or doubles. The Club offers an excellent junior tennis program as well. The Carriage Club is the only club facility in town that offers both hard and clay courts.

Fitness:

The fitness center is located on the top floor of the Coach House and is open at least 18 hours per day to accommodate most schedules. Locker rooms, showers, steam room, massage and towel service are all available. A wide variety of group fitness classes and personal training are offered from cardio boxing, spinning, yoga and Pilates.

Pool:

Summer is an active time at the Carriage Club with three pools; the lap/family pool, intermediate pool or for the littlest guests in the zero-entry baby pool.

During the summer, the Club’s competitive swim and dive teams are among the many popular activities, culminating with the CCSAKC Swim & Dive Championships. The Carriage Club will play host to the 10 CCSAKC League clubs for the annual Swim Championships in July 2013.

The pool area is a great gathering place for outdoor poolside dining and parties beginning with the Memorial Day get-together and ending with the Labor Day barbeque.

Ice Rink:

In the winter, the outdoor ice rink is the place to be. Carriage Club is unique in that it is the only Club in the Kansas City area that features an ice rink, making it a year –round club.

The Carriage Club figure skating program, taught by certified coaches, provides instruction for every level of figure skater as young as age 3. Each year in late February, the Club presents an ice skating show that involves all children who are enrolled in figure skating for the season. This full scale production is the largest and most popular event of the year.

Ice hockey is also offered as a winter-time sport. Children ages 4 thru 18 can compete on one of the many teams that play for Carriage Club and compete against teams from area public ice skating rinks.

Carriage Club has an adult hockey program as well!

Job Description

The General Manager (GM) has responsibility for day-to-day operations of the Carriage Club and will direct all Club programs and operations within the club’s restaurants, banquet facilities, fitness center, tennis facility, swimming pool and ice skating rink. He/she is responsible for the creation and implementation of all service standards and processes while providing outstanding leadership for key managers and employees at the Club.

The expectation is that the GM will provide reflective and visionary leadership to the Board of Directors and other constituencies, recognizing and proactively anticipating trends and relevant impacts to the Club. The successful candidate will ensure that Carriage Club is consistently striving to provide ‘best in the area’ service and programs that will promote and further develop the business, civic and community connections.

Candidate Qualifications & Experience

The Club is looking for a “take-charge,” highly visible person who will have a genuine passion for service excellence in all areas of operation. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of progressive General Manager experience at a similar full-service quality club.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional financial and budgeting acumen. Demonstrated skills in food and beverage operations and quality are essential. The candidate must have a proven record of strong operational management skills and will have an impeccable career path ensuring the highest standards of operation and attention to detail.

The General Manager will oversee all departments and must have solid knowledge of every area of club operations. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated team leader and will provide leadership and guidance to an established and loyal group of department heads and employees. This individual will foster a spirit of respect and decency among the employees and members.

He/She must have excellent marketing skills and a proven record of membership recruitment, satisfaction and interaction. The candidate must possess the ability to work well with the Board and Committees providing visionary leadership and sound guidance.

Integrity, visibility, creativity and energy are of the utmost importance to this membership, along with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Long range and Strategic planning skills are considered very valuable.

The candidate should be active and well respected in his or her local and national CMAA organization, with a recognized desire to continue with their on-going professional development and the professional development of the staff.

·  An individual with good executive presence, who possesses the highest personal and professional integrity.

A college degree and CCM accreditation are preferred.
