Main Responsibilities
- Key responsibility was the Multi-Layer Board-level Designing, including schematic entry, foot-print design, placement, routing and Gerber data generation.
- Troubleshooting and repairing of complex high-tech Aviation electronic boards.
- Designing test benches for complicated circuit boards using Microcontroller.
- Analog and Digital IC’s testing.
- Component sourcing and procurement.
Main Achievements/Projects:
- Successfully lead the execution of the Series Production of 5 different PCBs of HUD Electronic Unit of F-7P Aircraft. Total 70 electronic cards were delivered to PAF.
- Successfully lead the execution of D-Level Tester for 4 different avionics cards of HUD system of F-7P aircraft. Comprehensive GUI based software was deployed to interact with hardware. This tester is equipped with oscilloscope, programmer and IC tester, Personal computer and a customized panel that includes the FPGA and micro controller based PCB cards, interfaced to computer through virtual COM ports. It can debug the cards up to IC level.
- Re-engineered a highly complex Graphic Controller Card used in RoseI/II Mirage aircraft’s HUD system, originally manufactured by GEC Ferranti. The card was re-engineered on an 8 Layer Hybrid PCB (Rogers4003+Fr4 Hi-Tg) over full Military Temperature range of -55C to +125 C and vibration/shock compliant to MIL-STD 810E.
- Designed multi-layer (up to 10 layers) and complex hybrid PCBs of HUD system for F-7P aircraft. This was a major Re-engineering/Design project of original PCB assemblies made by Elliott Bros (London) Ltd. The process included schematic entry, component placement, routing and Gerber data generation for five different cards. Also replaced the discrete digital ICs on one of the card with CPLD to achieve low cost solution along with an ease of troubleshooting in future.
- Designed Embedded system Using PIC 18f4455 for Telenor and Vodafone Magic Box to control the devices attached.
- Designed Microcontroller based Control system design for vending machine.
- Designed Digital G.P.S based Speedometer for Pakistan Railway.
