Job Title:GDPR Project Manager

Department:Bursary

Reports to: Junior Bursar

Purpose of role:

To project manage the implementation of the College’s GDPR project, to ensure full compliance with the Regulations by May 2018.

Responsibilities:

  • Todevelop and implement a project action plan to deliver the College’s transition to GDPR compliance.
  • To review the recommendations of the College’s internal report on GDPR and advice from the University and guide the College on the resultant actions required as part of an action plan for GDPR implementation.
  • Towork with key stakeholders across the College and university-wide to ensure the co-ordination of the work streams required to fulfil the project objectives.
  • To ensure that College Fellows, Staff and Students arecommunicated with effectively and are familiar with the requirements of GDPR and their responsibilities within this.
  • To review GDPR requirements and their impact on practises, policies and proceduresacross the college.
  • To developand ensure the implementation of new policies and procedures in conjunction with key stakeholders in order to meet the requirements for the Regulations.
  • To advise on post-GDPR implementation Data Protection Officer governance arrangements options that are GDPR compliant.
  • To lead a working groupin order to meet and oversee the project's objectives.
  • To monitor compliance with the Regulations.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Experience in change management projects and /or implementing data governance.
  • An excellent understanding of the rules of data protection in general and the GDPR 2018 in particular.
  • Good understanding of practical aspects of managing data privacy and information governance.
  • Ability to successfully manage a project, assess risk and key actions, make decisions, offer solutions and see through to completion.
  • A proven track record in the ability to plan, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and motivate stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in the HE sector would be an advantage.

Employment Details

Salary:£40,000

Hours:Full time 36.25 hours per week

Contract term:Fixed term – initially for a period of 12 months

Holiday:33 days (pro rata) inclusive of an entitlement for bank holidays

Housing allowance:Upon successful completion of the probationary period staffare normally eligible to receive the housing allowance currently set at £850 pa (pro rata for part time staff) which is paid quarterly.

Pension scheme:The College operates a defined contribution pension scheme. The College will contribute double the amount that employees contribute up to a maximum of 16%employers contribution.

The pension scheme complies with the requirements of the Occupational and Personal Pension Schemes Regulations for auto-enrolment. All staff will become members, after three month’s service unless they choose to opt out.

Private Health Care:The College provides free health care currently through membership of BUPA. Membership of a dental care scheme is also available. Staff are able to join the schemes after successful completion of their probationary period, subject to certain limitations. This is a taxable benefit.

Gym:Membership of the College gym is available for a modest fee. Inductions are compulsory.

Sports & Social Club:The Trinity College Staff Sports and Social Club, run by a committee of staff, offer regular outings to places of interest, and organise functions including a Christmas event.
