GC strengthens global portfolio with new collaboration

Leuven, Belgium (February 2014): GC, a world leader in dental materials has announced a strategic partnership with dental technology company Sirona to expand its offerings in the global dental CAD/CAM sector.

“We are proud to announce that we are working with Sirona to produce CAD/CAM blocks, such as composites and other restorative materials for the CEREC and inLab ranges,” said GC IAG Executive Vice President Mr Henri Lenn. “GC is always exploring new ways to add value to the dental industry, while developing our leadership in dental material science, and this opportunity allows us to expand into new markets globally,” he continued.

Sirona is the world’s largest manufacturer of dental technology and develops, manufactures, and markets a complete line of dental products, including CAD/CAM restoration systems (CEREC, inLab), digital intra-oral, panoramic and 3D imaging systems, dental treatment centres and handpieces.

In order to meet the growing demand by dentists for innovative dental technology combined with high-quality materials, this partnership of two dental giants will have a lasting impact on restorative dentistry by improving patient outcomes. While Sirona will enjoy sales support in the rapidly expanding Asian markets, GC will gain established access to Sirona CAD/CAM users worldwide.

“With our shared vision and aligned core values, we welcome this collaboration and look forward to continuing to raise standards in dentistry,” Mr Lenn concluded.

GC is the global market leader for glass-ionomer materials and also the world's largest provider of expertise, advancements, product quality and top customer service in the fields of composites, ceramic layering and adhesive systems.

GC manufactures some 600 types of products, which are sold in over 100 countries around the world. Due to the existence of differing needs in different overseas markets, GC has very deliberately localized its European, America and Asian operations. It is losing no time in optimizing its on-site activities, while at the same time fulfilling its obligation as a local enterprise by taking an active part in dental industry associations in each country. In terms of its daily operations, GC is not only using contract distributorships to expand its sales network, but is also developing its user-oriented activities through close ties with key opinion leaders in key markets.
